Heads Up! (EQ2)

Time to celebrate!
Just a few cool things worth mentioning with EQ2! First off there is the Oktoberfest celebration. Head out to Sinking Sands, beside the carpet, to pop in and check it out. Lots of fun but no rent items, there are three hats and a cloak that are heirloom be sure to grab them!

D2D has Sentinel's Fate expansion (current all in one pack) for $4.95. If you need it, a great price. For my second account I wanted to wait until Velious instead of buying two expansions back to back- but this might be too good to pass up! New players get 30 days play time and it also comes with 500sc. Awesome! Check it out here.

And last but not least, if you play EQ2X there is a lovely staff (Staff of the Rising Phoenix) to claim. It's in celebration of EQ2X leaving beta. Only available until October 3rd. Find out more here.

Just wanted to share the news. Safe adventures all!

Necromancer- LFM(inions) & Player Housing Additions (EQ2)

I am a maniac when it comes to player housing. I 'waste' too much time on it and enjoy every moment of it. I spend way too much (in-game) money on it and oooh and ahhh over every little detail. I love to visit friends houses to drool over designs and compare ideas. I've been working on my Necro's house in Gorowyn (Mistmoore Server) this week and I've come up with a couple of very cool rooms I hope to show off before long. A video perhaps! Until then I am slowly working on my house and having fun with it.

The reason I bring up housing is that many of the houses in EQ2 have not had an outdoors area, only some do. It's always a nice bit of charm to have a garden area or an outside type of area to decorate. I read yesterday that there have been additions to those that don't! It's not live yet, currently on test, so I am thinking it should come out within the next few weeks with the update containing the NoTD (Nights of the Dead) event.

Here are some examples that are listed on EQ2housing.com- Maj Dul, Neriak, Gorowyn, Kelethin and Halas. Let the drooling begin! Lovely aren't they! Props to the developers on these gorgeous additions! I can't wait to design mine!!

-----------------------------------------------------

Other than messing around with player housing I've been working on leveling my Necromancer, Farrah. She is now closing in on level 40. It's been exciting and I didn't have intentions of leveling her but the play style is so me. And.. I just love to solo so the class is a good choice for me. I am sure I'll work on another healer here too, probably my Fury.

My bud is going to be playing again it looks like, I'm excited! He's patching now. I hope he sticks around longer this time, it is always great when friends play. A few others have taken breaks and it always seems I am the one who hangs in there the longest. Bored? Come join us on Mistmoore!

I hope to pull away and play some Vanguard, EQ and LoTRO this week too. So... hard... to... not.. log... In....

Station Time

This week my Everquest sub was needing to be either canceled or renewed. I am still playing but not as much as I had been. I'm wanting to play some of my other characters but I'm still waiting on the transfers to go live on the FV server. Dire has been playing it regularly and enjoying it a lot. I am happy that he has settled down happily with it, it's nice to see someone so content with their game.

Dire thought I might like a station pass this time around as it would give me several games to play. He knows I've wanted to spend more time in Vanguard and how much I love playing EQ2. No choosing between EQ and EQ2, play both! So, that's what I did.

I've logged into Vanguard for a little, but mostly EQ2 on my old server. I do want to spend more time in Vanguard soon though. In EQ2 my Inquisitor is my highest character but she is actually on my other account and I mainly play this account because my favorite EQ characters are there. I had every intention of playing my long lost Swashbuckler whom I betrayed to Qeynos. But- In the end I'm having the most fun with the Necro.

I've heard that the Necromancer class can be an amazing solo class with AA points put into Tainted Heals. What this does is; for every Manipulation spell you cast, your pet is healed. It's healed for 18%- not a set amount which makes it truly rock. I was one point away and gained it very quickly to set up for this spec. I think I will be spending more time on her! This is how a Necromancer class should play, it's fun a great solo class and has decent pets to tank or dps with tons of utility while being very self sufficient.

Why not play EQ2X? Well, I'm just tired of the free crowd for the most part. Also I prefer getting the most bang for my buck and I don't mind supporting my games by doing so. Plus, why not have a station pass? It's perfect for someone like me who likes to play many games. While I may hop around they are always an option to play whenever I like. The station pass was made just for (players like) me!

LoTRO- I haven't played in about a day or so but I am just taking things slow. It's an amazing game and I'm not finished with it yet!

In EQ2, if you play on Mistmoore look me up! Farrah, Decree and Endure are my characters there.

Afk- Tut Has Taken Over!

Tut: "Shhhh! Maybe she won't see me!"

This is an everyday occurrence... He has to watch me play.
Time to kick back- All that gaming makes a kitty tired!

Taking Things Slow

I managed to hit level 20 in LoTRO this morning. I was pretty excited because it means I could finally do the skirmish part of the game. For some reason I am short on skirmish points and I cannot finish the tutorial to purchase the warrior. I'm not sure if i need to do other ones or what? Seems kind of pointless for a tutorial if that is the case. Maybe I skipped something? I was tired and I will have to wait until later to figure it out.

I was sort of getting tired of the Shire, as pretty as it is I like the darker zones: bogs, marshes, wooded forest and the like. I did get to spend some time in a few of those type areas which made me happy. Questing along happily the levels seemed to fly past last night and today. I like the quest tracker a lot, it helps save a lot of time. I'd be so lost without it!

Upon hitting 20 I gained several different little 'pet people' to follow me around and help. They do different things and I was excited to retire 'Stalker'. I named my new one Jemima, I don't know why but that is just the funniest name ever IMO.

I think my biggest complaint with the game is travel. The travel from Bree to the areas I am venturing to now, well it is quite a gap compared to what it was before. Also I've died and realized how far it can sometimes be to travel back. Yikes! Some quests, traveling back from Bree, well, they just take so long to get back to. It's not the worst thing but I do wish travel was a bit smoother. Quests are spread out on the map and you do a lot of running which can take a bit of time. Some of my current quests have nice hubs close by and it's a refreshing change.

Regardless of all this, I am still enjoying myself. The scenery along the way is nice to drink in! The community seems to be mixed of respectful old players and punk ass new players. Ok, so not all the new players are punks but it seems a lot of them like to be very vocal, making fun of things like RP and subscriptions. Where, a week ago, people were kind and very fun and lighthearted- lately chat has more and more jerks in it is all. I run across more and more people being rude and complaining about prices, having to pay (for anything). I tend to stay out of ooc channel now.

Hopefully after the initial burst things will calm down. I think that is a big reason I got tired of EQ2X as quickly as I did, all the people wanting a handout and complaining. I'm not in a rush so I may sort of lay low for awhile. It is a game to be taken slow, and I plan on doing just that!

Middle Earth- Travels

Just some pictures of my travels through LoTRO. While I haven't seen but a fraction of the game- it's been a lovely journey thus far! Enjoy!

Think I'll Stay For Awhile (LoTRO)

I've been quite smitten with LoTRO since I've started playing it recently. I would have thought I'd be more interested in EQ2X but for some reason I've had more of a pull to this game lately. I'm sure I'll play the other game again but for now I'm very excited about my travels in Middle Earth. I hope it has a lot of appeal at the high levels, I surely hope to see those! I ended up subbing last night and I'm very glad I did.

It's the little perks that get me. Being able to use this or that, well it all adds up with me. Plus if I am playing a game I like having everything available to me. If I really like a game, why not support it! The cool thing with LoTRO is even if my sub runs out I can still log in and mess around. Very awesome. I wanted the whole experience so I went with a subscription, plus you get 500 Turbine Points a month, pretty sweet deal.

I actually broke down and bought a mount last night. In my opinion it was a great investment. In this game you do a lot of traveling so any means of getting there faster, it's something good in my eyes! Nothing fancy but I like my bay horsie. I especially like having transportation!

Speaking of buying things I think the cash shop in this game is very decently priced when compared to other games. I'm not paying twenty five bucks for a mount. I'm not paying  fifteen dollars for a cosmetic appearance slot item, I paid maybe two bucks or so for one. I think when compared to EQ2(X) this cash shop wins hands down. Buying auction slots- it's permanent! Not silly charges that have to be bought again. The prices are more realistic and don't make me want to hit baby murlocs! Don't get me wrong I love EQ2, I was just a bit put off by pricing lately.

I love the housing. It's not as snazzy as EQ2 but the neighborhoods, oh wow are they lovely! I read somewhere they [houses] are getting some things changed to make them a bit better and more versatile. Music rocks, appearance slots... two at that! Plenty of bank room for a starting character, wardrobe, free bags. I'm pretty happy with the newbie experience as a whole.

Fishing was fun, it's the only trade I've really messed around with and it's actually a hobby. I like it though, simple and enjoyable. The trades seem interesting and I hope to learn more about them soon. I'm also looking forward to doing skirmishes. Soon, I'm only 16 now! The game seems a bit slow paced but it's not too bad.

The community is great, thus far. People are helpful and charming with random RP. I really like the community and think it's a very nice atmosphere. I'm always looking for friends, add Heavenli and say hello if you play!

See you in middle Earth!

Everquest: HoT Prelude Events

I've been wondering why he's been laying there for the past... Month.
Today EQ Players has a prelude event listed for the House of Thule expansion. I was excited and thought it might be something fun to do. It starts with a little lizard man in PoK (by the big bank), named Trevis. Spoilers incoming. If you are just curious about more information scroll to the end for links.

--------------------------------------------------
So this little lizard mumbles about [bad things] and has me run off to Qeynos Hills in search of some fellow named Sagen. It turns out his wife has gone missing and he'd like me to look for her. I end up searching several areas in Blackburrow, which I have not been to in years. I actually got lost, fun. So I tell this fellow 'Sorry your wife wasn't with the Gnolls", and he has me head to Qeynos in search of her.

My wife is missing, can you find her while I stand around? Wonder if he is in any relation to Mankrik..
I speak to several people in Qeynos, stumbling along trying to find my way around the city as I've not been there in quite sometime. Nobody there has seen her and it's suspected she ran off with another man. I'm pointed to West Karana in search of her. It turn out she is hanging around outside the second groups of housing on the left side when you zone in.

Ah, Qeynos is all it's 1999 charming glory! It is still lovely
It seems she was adventuring and was lost but now she is tired and is going home. So I run back to Sagen and he thanks me and hands me ten platinum pieces. I was left wondering if there was anymore to the story. So.. I head back to Trevis who mumbles about [worse things] and sends me off looking for a fellow who is hanging around the hairy feet place. Halflings, so I head to Rivervale. This fellow tells me I don't have enough people in my party for a task. So I log in Dire's SK and grab the task.

Thought I'd blend in with the locals, Halfling illusion.
I wanted to try the task out just to see what it was about. The task has to be intended for higher levels. Me being only 71 with my Rogue, it just is a bit low. The mobs hit for around 4k and I had to run to fight another day! I ended up using my escape ability at 9% health. I suppose I could try it later on with my guild but the reward is 80 platinum. Maybe they all lead up to something better but it better be damn nice for all the running around involved! The quest is in extremes from low to high levels, sort of misleading but I guess at least everyone can do the first part.

All in all I was a bit underwhelmed. There, supposedly, will be several parts to the prelude and I hear there is an achievement. I suppose it was nice to revisit some old content at least.
--------------------------------------------------

Prelude Event official article and forum thread. (It was stated he [the quest mob] is an Iksar- He's a lizard man. Where do they get these CM's? Oh that's right EQ2....)
Zam: In the absence of Fear: Missing Persons- Prelude Event Part I
Zam: In the absence of Fear: Waylay Reinforcements- Prelude Event Part II
Zam: Prelude quest list

Can't help any further than that! Well, I do hope others enjoy it more so than I did.

Eventful Days

Just the other day there was a GM Event (or guide, as they do quite a lot of events really, we still call them GM events)  in Everquest, on our server. Nostalgic ties always cause me to gravitate towards these. While the loot is often nothing great, it's a lot of fun to participate. It was in the Loping Plains that a band of skeletons were running around causing havoc.

It was a blast and these are actual people playing, there is no taunting these quest actors! They randomly hit people, or sometimes not so randomly.... I had one chase me awhile, being at 30% health, he noticed! The nerve of that mean skelly! They move around trying to get away from back stabs and shadow step away leaving you looking around. Luckily I didn't end up dying and the loot wasn't so hot but it was something fun and exciting for a bit. These add a nice charming quality to the game. The people that take the time to run these events have my appreciation.

My Rogue hit 71 over the weekend and I banked up 18 AA points doing the Iksar illusion mask quest in FoS. We had a guildy help us with that, it was fun. Speaking of guildies we recently joined a new guild. Nice people and it's not so lonely when you have people to group with sometimes.

I love Everquest but sometimes I get distracted and bored if I grind out too many levels alone. These days I mostly play when Dire is on. The Rogue, as fun as it is in groups, is not always fun solo. So, I decided to make a Druid alt just for kicks. Yep, another alt. Dire knows I have been wanting to make one so he's been urging me to do so. If I can get her to 51 we can group and the levels will fly. Plus it's just better when you have someone to play with.

I'm still excited about the expansion, I wish I could say more about it. Soon! I hope I can last that long...! I leave you with some tunes, Plane of Time music is the best music in the game!

See you in Norrath!

The Stay In Middle Earth Continues!

This weekend I spent some play time in Middle Earth. I am enjoying myself very much so. I like it enough to sub and am sort of torn between LoTRO and EQ. While I enjoy Everquest it's been hard to not play LoTRO! I would have laughed if someone told me I'd like it so much, a month ago. However, I always like to give games a fair chance and see what's under the surface. This game has much more meat on it's bones than I thought it would have. Plus the story is... well epic.

I will probably end up subbing this week, until then I am playing my Captain and last night I made a Burglar which I want to play more and see how I like this class. Once I decide which to level first I'll sub. I really like the Captain a lot but the Burglar seems like a great deal of fun too. Oh the choices! It's all new to me still so the classes are very refreshing.

I was in the Bree inn the other night and there were a few people playing songs which was quite charming. Several of us lined up to listen. It hit me, right then, that you could play songs automatically with the instruments. So I went hog wild the next day and have a massive collection of songs to play. It's quite simple to put them into the game and some of them are really great. The best place I've found to download them is thefatlute.com.

I also did the Pirates Day event which was quite easy but it took me forever to walk to the quest turn in and then all the way back. It was nice I could participate even though I was a low level. I hope to do this with my Burg before it is gone.

For someone who loves fluff as much as I do, this game covers a lot. It's lovely and scenic. The game play feels solid. I like having a built in quest tracker as well. Last night Dire says to me, "You really like that game don't you", he also commented on what a good game it looked like. He's showing some interest! We sat and listened to songs on my lute the other day, he got suck a kick out of it.

I cannot wait to further continue with my adventures in Middle Earth, so much that I feel guilty when I think of my Everquest characters sitting waiting on me to play them, lol!

Safe adventures peeps!

'Moar' Beta & 'Moar' Levels!

Syp over at Bio Break had a contest for some beta keys the other day for a few beta keys he had gotten at PAX. Today I was happy to find an email from him with a beta key for Rift! Thank you, Syp!! I cannot wait to try that out, it really looks like a great game from what I've been reading and watching. Exciting!

I've been squeezing a little in time in this weekend with Everquest and managed to hit level 70 on my Rogue. Dire managed to snag me a couple of weapons, from some zone he was grinding in, which were upgrades, this made me very happy.

Yesterday my son went to a friends party and I ended up playing chauffeur to teenagers, later the night, getting back home kind of late. So when I came home I was delighted to see Dire had completed his epic 2.0! He was very happy and he's been so excited about getting it finished up. He's gotten the 1.5 and 2.0 all in the span of a week. He makes friends easily and these people really like to help it seems hehe. He's also started leveling again and is four levels above me. I have some catching up to do.

I've been spending a good bit of time in Middle Earth also though. I really enjoy playing LoRTO.  But... more on that in my next post.

Have a great weekend!

Something Old, Something New (LoTRO)

I've been saying that I'd give LoTRO a real try when it went FTP. Since then I've logged in a couple of times and logged out fairly quickly. However I said I'd sit down and give it a chance, I'm always intrigued by how much fun other bloggers, like Lono, MMOGamerchick and Syp, make it sound. There are several other blogs I read that have more good things to say about the game, so if everyone likes it so much, why not give it honest shot?

I sat down last night and decided to not play anything else until I at least got out of the little starting area where the game is closed off still. I made a Captain, it sounded like a lot of fun and useful. I'm still debating on playing a Burglar too. Anyhow, I got into a nice rhythm with questing and really had a chance to soak in and enjoy the lovely environment, I even ended up getting use to the chunky character models. If a game has great game play- models are something I can look over.

I actually had company twice last night and decided not to play anything else later on in the night until I got a real feel for it and you know what? By the time I had sat down to play it more later in the evening I was looking forward to it. I was amazed with how much fun I was having. I ended up logging out of Everquest early to mess around some more, before bed. I even had Dire looking over appreciatively at the game!

There are a few things I don't like but nothing is a huge deal. Little things like my desktop theme (Windows 7) changing colors every time I log in, then changing back upon logging out. Or when I unplug my headphones I have to set it back, next time I use them, in the options. I'm sure there will be more things but no game is perfect.

I suppose it's fresh and completely new to me. I love to give any MMO game a spin just to experience it. That's the gamer in me, the love for all things MMO and giving them all a fair try. I'm glad I did give this one a shot, I'd actually love to subscribe to it for VIP membership. I'm still thinking on it.

I loved the free mount I got in the mail, sadly it will be gone tomorrow and I get to hoof foot it again. Instruments in the game, wow. Playing music, that was the coolest damn thing I've seen in a long time. I found a great site with all this music you can play. I'm looking forward to housing and even more so the revamp ahead. I love fluff things like appearance slots and this game also has them- Yay!

So I'm pleasantly surprised and currently having a blast. I can't say how long I will play it or if I will play in spurts much like I do EQ2X. Right now I am having a lot of fun and I really am enjoying myself. I hope to continue my adventures in Middle Earth for awhile!

I play on the Landroval server, right now I've been on Heavenly- Add me to friends or drop me a hello if you play there too!

See you in Middle Earth!

Slow Week

Direwind Cliffs
I'm sort of tired today. At five AM my cat figured out what a door stop was- a new exciting toy, obviously. We were woken up by a loud series of BOING! BOING! BOING! Then he preceded to try to pounce the rat's cage making a racket and finished up the fiasco by attacking feet hanging off any bed in the house. *Yawn*...

I've sort of slowed down in leveling recently in Everquest. I hit 69 last night with my Rogue which went very quickly with Dire and one of his friends. He's been blowing past me with content and progress. His Shadow Knight is nearing 650 AA points and he already completed his epic 1.5 quest. Tonight he will be finishing up his 2.0. He has a good friend who helped him with a lot of it and had some really good luck with spawns. He's a monster at soloing where I struggle keeping a decent pace. Plus it's just more fun to play with someone else. I end up camping a rare item or working on a quest when I solo, while he plows through things.

I've not really done a whole lot in HoT beta besides test out some classes against the new content and while I can't comment on it let's just say I prefer checking out the housing and reporting bugs and sending feedback in for that area. I need to log again and see if anything has been updated, try out some different things.

Another day, another quest to tackle.. With my trusty kitty!
I decided to kill some time in EQ2X on the side. It's nice logging into the game whenever I want, I'm still a wee little Swashbuckler. I always miss EQ2 when I haven't played for awhile and I will probably always play it since it is FTP with EQ2X. Slowly I am making progress with my new character and I cannot wait for the Halloween events to roll around!

My character is so ugly it even scares her.
I'm actually giving LoTRO another chance, slowly. First step, complete the tutorial. Log out. Turn in a few quests. Log out. You get the picture. So today I am going to try to get out of the newbie area and actually see some of the game and get a much better feel for it. So, we'll see how it goes. I made a Captain but I'm thinking of making a Burglar too.

Variety is nice, it's wonderful to have different options when playing MMO games. Such a long ways from when I first started playing MMO games. There wasn't even a fraction of the choices we have today. Other than EQ, I think my other choices were UO and something along the lines Well of Souls LOL.

Game on peeps!

Epic Humor (TV)

As gamers we love all things gamer related, talking about games, reading about games and in general all things game related. Hey, that's why your here! Some of us more than others, but we all share an interest. I always enjoy talking to my gamer friends even if we don't play the same games we share a common ground.

Recently Dire and I have felt in the mood to watch something game oriented, something geeky, something funny. We found a few really good watches I thought I'd share. If you are a gamer you'll appreciate these!  No spoilers ahead.

The Gamers: Dorkness Rising. This one is based on tabletop RPG play but it still has the general feel and lingo to go with it. It's funny and really you can relate to the characters. While it's not some big time production it has a great story full of funny lines and nerd raging! I really liked the characters and the quest they were on, switching characters and remaking characters, too funny. If you're looking for a good laugh this movie is full of cheesy humor!

The Guild. I've watched most of the first season but my husband hadn't seen it so I added it to our queue in Netflix the other night. Last night we sat down and watched an episode and he enjoyed it. While some of the show is sort of 'lame' in it's own cute way you can relate to it and laugh with the characters... and sometimes at them. It's so typical of stereotyping that it's hilarious. Any MMO gamer can appreciate the show and at times relate. For the rest of the night we joked and called each other Zaboo and Codex... Yeah nerdy, I know.

Dragonlance: Dragons of Autumn Twilight. This movie is about the Dragonlance books by Margret Weis and Tracy Hickman. The characters are based off of a tabletop RPG and many of the spells and abilities are the cornerstones that MMO games originated from. If you're looking for an adventure with fantasy and epic heroes this one is great. It's been awhile since I watched it but I enjoyed it very much. These are my heroes! I've read anything I could get my hands on about this band of friends so it was very cool to see the film.

Is there anything game oriented show or movie you like to watch? Feel free to share, I'm always looking for something good to watch!

I Heart Gir!

<3 Gir- We all need our own little evil minion!
You can see what my son has had me watching this week ;)

It'll Get Here When It Gets Here!

Waiting for Cataclysm eh? They are too...

Lately so many people seem to be crying out for Cataclysm. As if this expansion will be the salvation we all need to like playing again. My response to that cry is to look at the track record. This year WoW will be six years old, it's getting some age- it's an old game. Look how long we go between expansions, do you honestly see this changing this far into the game? They don't have any heat under their ass(es) to do any different, so why would they? Hold on to your nickers you'll have more than enough time to burn through the content several times over!

I suppose it bothers me when I don't see much going back into a game, at least to fund content on a regular basis. I may not like to play a game like STO but I respect that the company is trying to keep people interested and adding new fresh content. At least in EQ and EQ2 I know that content will be there on a regular basis. I like this! It makes me a happy player.

I see all the hype about games such as TOR and I have pretty much lost all zest for a game that is still in the works and has been just handing out tidbits over the last year. Give me something I can go on or I lose interest. Oh look it's Han Solo's future home as a playable planet. I could give a rats 'arse' about planets, I want to hear a release date!

I just have a hard time staying interested with all this baiting. *Does her best Warlock Imp Impression* "Is this really necessary?" I'm playing a game now that delivers. Expansion each year, check! Plenty of content, check! Release dates given in a reasonable amount of time for expansions, check! It's actually a refreshing change when compared to others. What's so hard about that?

If you're bored with content, take a breather, your game will still be there when you get back. Wishing for a game to hand out more tidbits because it might be the greatest MMO ever? You'll have plenty of time when it's released to actually find out. Try something new or perhaps something old. You just might gain a new perspective on things or actually enjoy yourself.

Firiona Vie's Future- Looking Bright

Vittorio- MGB Junkie. (Mass Group Buff)
I was just thinking, the other day, how I missed some of my characters that are still on Bristlebane server, in EQ.  Lucky for me some good news is in the works. Recently EQ had server merges and the two that were special rule-set servers- Firiona Vie (RP) and Zek (PvP)- remained untouched. What could they do to keep the unique servers still but add appeal to players? We have been playing on FV for awhile and we really enjoy it there, so knowing the server wasn't going to be merged with a normal one is comforting.

It looks as if FV will be getting a nice XP boost, FREE transfers (yay, all my characters can move here), character slot limit from three up to the same amount as normal servers. Very good news for FV indeed. I may start playing around on some of my other characters a little bit too while I wait, I just hope it's not too long of a wait. Here's the official rundown on the FV and Zek changes.

This weekend I managed to work on several AAs with my Shaman and hit 71. With the Rogue I also did the AA thing and acquired level 67. I'm sort of not sure who I want to work on the most. While the Shaman is a robust class that is great in groups  and decent solo, it gets rather dull for me at times. Buffing and slowing with the occasional heals can be pretty boring. The rogue while not a great solo class it's really fun for me when grouped. I love being sneaky! So, I'm still deciding who to push to 85 first or just work on one of my higher characters whom I will transfer soon.

Do you ever get like that? Just really can't decide which character you like the best? Ah, so many fun classes I truly love for unique reasons.

I hope everyone is enjoying themselves with whatever you may be playing!

Loyalty (Everquest)

This week Everquest launched it's loyalty program. It's nice to be appreciated as a customer and I love things like this. I already have 40 tokens and I'm excited about saving them up for some cool stuff. You can check more out in the eqplayers forum.

Today House of Thule pre-order is available! I know, I sound like a commercial... I am just very excited about the expansion and I will be pre-ordering! There are some real cool things along with it this year, I'll enjoy having those items.

Things have been moving along nicely, the Rogue is still level 65. I am working on alternate advancement points for awhile still then I will make my way to 71 and sit there for a bit. Dire has advised me well on my AA points as I was after some fluff points first. He advised me on some more dps oriented things which I am glad I took heed to.

My poisons now have the chance to crit for 6006 which is awesome! Right now on a normal proc they hit for 3003 so it basically doubles the damage, it's a nice boost. I just love the dps with the rogue and the more you put into the character the better it becomes, as with any class in the game. He's starting to be a monster tank with his Shadow Knight, it gets so much better with the AA points. He just kicks so much ass, it makes me jealous sometimes! The rogue is more up my 'alley' though.

I have not had too much time to play the last few days, yesterday I was so tired I thought my head would explode and actually fell asleep uncharacteristically early, hence the early post heh.

Oh, I now have the title (you gain several titles with each AA bracket) annihilator. That just sounds so evil. I annihilate things... mwahahaha! I think I also got shadow, phantom and another cool one but this one was the coolest for me.

*Slinks off into the shadows in search of something to annihilate...*

Everquest Mercenaries- Isn't he cute

Isn't he so cute with his 'widdle' daggers!
The other day I saw someone running around with one of the new mercenaries in Everquest. It was this cool little lizard man. I just had to have one! Though it took me a bit of searching to find where to find them. There are the lizard man, bixie, orc and brownie mercs to choose from as DPS, with the latest update 'Rage of The Mercenaries'.

What kind of mercs are available? The basic ones I mentioned are available along with the original healer and tank mercs. The DPS mercs are wizard and Rogue mercs and they actually function very well. With the House of Thule pre-order there are two (I assume them to be; a caster and the other a melee) mercs available also, they have unique skins. Halloween is coming around the corner and there is a special merc from an event. There are a few others like the beta rewards, LON loot cards and the clockwork mercs.

Tank it Mr. Rogue! I like to make him tank light blue mobs.
Everquest isn't for the feint of heart, it's not a game that coaxes you along holding your hand every step of the way. While it's much easier than the harsh and hardcore game it started out as, over a decade ago, it's still a game that offers challenges. There is older content for those wishing for more of a casual experience and the mercs fill in the blanks for grouping and soloing. They are a very nice addition to the game, something I never thought I'd see in Everquest and have grown to absolutely love. I can now go solo, well molo, AA points on my Rogue, where years ago this would have been like finding ice water in hell.

I prefer to duo with my husband most of the time but when he isn't home or isn't playing it is nice to run off to adventure and have my merc there with me. Check out the link to find out all you need to know about mercenaries!

See ya' in Norrath!

Rainy Day...Beta Day

It's a rainy day and my dog is making me crabby because she won't walk when it rains, the cat is jumping all over the house like a little imp, my son fell in the rain and scraped up his hands and arms pretty badly and to top it all off our apartment office had a mix up and sent me an eviction notice stating we had to be out- yesterday. It started out as a pretty glum day.

My son feels better now, the dog finally went outside, the cat is sleeping and the regional manager at the office fixed up the mix up. After all this I sat down to check my email and saw I had been accepted into Everquest's  House of Thule beta! I'm currently downloading it so I'll be checking it out tonight. I am so excited!

I can't give anything away really on how things are going until the NDA is lifted. However, when it is I'll have plenty to say and share. Only forty minutes to go before I can log in and check it out! I've never been in any beta for Everquest so this is very exciting for me!

I suppose every cloud has it's silver lining!

Levels, Levels, Levels!

Kung-Fu kick to the head!
This past weekend in Everquest was a lot of fun. You know that feeling you get when you are excited to play a character? You're excited to log in and play it, it's nice to feel it again. I had plans to work on my Shaman but the Rogue has taken over most of my playing time and she is now level 65. I created her this week, so with the bonus xp, some soloing, Dire grouping with me and xp pots- it's all added up nicely.

I've never played a Rogue extensively in the past so it's pretty refreshing. I am learning a bit more about the class and the poisons... oh the poisons are so nice! They add a nice bonus to the dps. I am working on my AA points now and the class really rounds out with them. I'm even spending a little time on trade-skills this time around.

What's nice about Everquest is you really feel accomplishments as you work on your character. It requires some thought, you don't have some cookie cutter spec you have to do either. Plus the community is very nice for the most part. It's easier than it was in the past, especially with the addition of mercenaries. They help fill in the blanks.

We even met up with a few people over the weekend to group with. You don't really need a LFD system in a game like EQ, you have hotzones (bonus xp for xping there) and it's a common-ground to meet up with people around your lvl. If you can't find a group you can always take your merc and go off to 'molo'.  Plus I don't feel pushed to play a healer anymore because we can always have a healer around with the mercs.

I love the variety of zones to level in.
Still after almost eleven years, I enjoy the game more than ever. Abilities still mean something, classes are unique and taking chances does have it's rewards and 'drawbacks'. Plus I just like to run around smashing in monster face, or in this case stabbing them in the back, instead of questing all the time. You'd think it would be boring but it's actually more fun than it sounds. There are quests but not the kind that require you to follow a set path. I like switching around places to level.

While it sounds like I spent all weekend leveling it actually took less time than you'd think. The levels flew by! I was busy throughout the weekend and we actually had a little Abyssinian kitten find us. Yes, he cried out and requested we take him home. I don't know where he came from but he was so cute and sweet we took him in. I am suppose to be fiind him a new home but nobody seems to be in a hurry to see him go as he really is a funny little guy who brings mirth into the house. I didn't actually want a kitten but he is simply adorable.

Tut- The King Kitten!
While my doggie Coco is a gloomy bear who loves to lay around all the time (whom he loves to pounce on whilst she is sleeping), he dances around playing with everything in sight, meowing at us and hopping in laps. He likes to sit in laps at the computers too, when he is tired. Abyssinian cats are not suppose to be lap cats and he is only when he is tired otherwise he is prowling the house. A very intelligent cat too. What caught my attention when I first saw him was his looks. While at first glance he looks like a normal orange tabby he is actually a ginger color and his face is elongated, eyes almond shaped, ears larger than normal and he is very lanky. He even has the trademark M shape over the eyes. He's a darling!

I hope everyone had a relaxing and enjoyable holiday weekend!
