House of Thule

Today I wanted to add some shots from the EverQuest: House of Thule expansion. Dire and I have been working through progression on our characters, his SK is 107 and climbing towards the cap and my druid is 96. I'm catching up, we could grind and I could catch up pretty quickly but we though progression through expansion content would be a fun thing to work on together and have done a lot thus far. I thought it might be interesting to share some shots that show the later game, even though this content is around eight years old. There are nice things to gain by doing progression content, it's a great way to learn the zones as well. We're still using ZAM , which is a massive help. If you click on the wiki tab it links down to progression for each xpac. I'm thankful that people still update it and maintain it! We're having a lot of fun and it gives us some goals to work towards! Enjoy the shots.

Rainy Day...Beta Day

It's a rainy day and my dog is making me crabby because she won't walk when it rains, the cat is jumping all over the house like a little imp, my son fell in the rain and scraped up his hands and arms pretty badly and to top it all off our apartment office had a mix up and sent me an eviction notice stating we had to be out- yesterday. It started out as a pretty glum day.

My son feels better now, the dog finally went outside, the cat is sleeping and the regional manager at the office fixed up the mix up. After all this I sat down to check my email and saw I had been accepted into Everquest's  House of Thule beta! I'm currently downloading it so I'll be checking it out tonight. I am so excited!

I can't give anything away really on how things are going until the NDA is lifted. However, when it is I'll have plenty to say and share. Only forty minutes to go before I can log in and check it out! I've never been in any beta for Everquest so this is very exciting for me!

I suppose every cloud has it's silver lining!

Everquest- House of Thule Goodies!

Today EQplayers had the Producer's Letter up for the new expansion, House of Thule. Some really interesting information worth checking out. While nothing we didn't really know much of before it's a little more in depth. What really interests me about this expansion is the housing!!

I thought Everquest housing would be more along the lines of the instanced version that EQ2 has. However it was stated that housing will be in neighborhoods! Very cool, I know a lot of players really love this idea. The only game I've had a chance to experience with this type of setting was Dark Age of Camelot, which was  great. So it's exciting, I'm just frothing at the mouth for Everquest housing!

An excerpt from the Producer's Letter:
Player Housing! Housing in HoT will allow players to purchase housing plots in their own new neighborhoods. We will be allowing players to purchase up to two housing plots at launch. Next, different sized houses can be sought to place on each of your plots. Your plots can be in the same neighborhood or in differing neighborhoods. This is a good chance to get with your friends or guildmates and rush to start your own guild neighborhood. However, just like real life, we will not be assisting if an ogre moves into an all gnome neighborhood. So find some ogre spray and teach your kids to travel in pairs.

I suppose we've waited long enough for housing in EQ, some say it's been too long. Better late than never, right?! I think so. I often said, over the last year, if Everquest had housing I'd have to be hard pressed to leave Norrath for other games. Plus SOE has the best housing in MMO games, I'm sure it will be fantastic in Everquest! Pics please!!

I had wanted to wait for the expansion to come out to head back to Norrath but I am thinking we may be heading back 'home' sooner than expected, Dire has been homesick for Norrath lately. Plus this week, a whole week long of bonus xp, very tempting!  I suppose they listened to all the people that had complained about being away for holiday weekends and made sure everyone could benefit at some point- Thanks SOE!

More good things on the horizon, bigger bags, a trophy system, more AAs. Check it out here. Also some awesome preorder goodness here.

See ya in Norrath!

The Waiting Game!

Lots of new info over the last few days about several games I love and one I'm simply hoping to love! Are you excited over any of these? I'm sitting here like a kid waiting for Christmas... just waiting to open those glorious presents! It seems I'm going to be playing the waiting game for awhile longer!

Everquest Next
I'm so excited about Everquest next, I just cannot wait to hear more about it! I read at Massively that the picture above is actually not concept art but in game art! So the game must be further along in development than many think! This is going to be the hardest game for me to wait for. I am just dying to hear more information on it.

I think a lot of old EQ fans will be waiting chomping at the bit for this long awaited game. While EQ2 is a wonderful game, for many 'old timers' it just was not what they expected nor craved from an Everquest game. For some, I have old EQ friends who love EQ2, it was fine. I was somewhere in the middle, adoring EQ2 for what it is but not feeling it was a true extension of Everquest.

This game is what I've been waiting on for quite sometime. Lets hope it's well worth the wait! One thing I do hope is this is a more serious MMO with not so much of the Station Cash focused in this game. I hope to see something pop up soon on everquest.com! <3 to SOE!!

Everquest2
A new expansion featuring  the cold and lovely continent of Velious. While I will never recapture the feeling from the original Velious it seems like a nice addition to the game. What I found rather cool news though is that EQ2 will be getting flying mounts! They will only work in certain areas though. I wonder what kind of models we can expect. I am sure they will be quite lovely, knowing the EQ2 team!

Everquest
House of Thule! The next Everquest expansion, expansion number seventeen! The ever growing Everquest, I hope it never stops. Several months ago I pondered over the name and if it had anything to do with player housing, well it does! I can't wait to see some previews of what housing will be like in Everquest. After almost 12 years EQ will have housing, crazy! It will add a bit more depth and be fun to have a house in Norrath.

I wonder where they will be? Will they have new themes or possible be in the old home cities. I would love a house in Neriak or Qeynos! If they are anything like the housing in EQ2 then I am sure they will be awesome. And furniture, I hope there is an abundance of it!

I'm pretty excited about this. I cannot wait to one day log in and be able to pick out a house in Everquest! I just hope I can afford one!

Cataclysm
If you're like me, you've probably been wondering if the expansion will even make it out this year. We all now that Blizzard... well, does things in their own time. It's ready when it's ready! But it looks like it will be ready for a release in 2010, so yay! It's been said at the Activision Blizzard's Second Quarter Current Year 2010 Earnings Conference:

"... I'd like to point to the release of Cataclysm, being our best expansion yet for World of Warcraft. Although an exact release date has not yet been announced, we're on track to launch the expansion by the end of the year. As with all Blizzard games, though, we won't release until it's ready."

I surely hope so.  I am glad to at least know it won't be much longer as I've been waiting and waiting and ..waiting, as we all have. One less thing to wait on, eh!? You can read more at WoW.com.

What are you excited about?
While I am very excited about everything posted there are still more great things ahead like Guild Wars 2 and SW:TOR. I am very excited about those but I think Everquest hits home more so than the others, for me at least. I'm a fantasy girl with my head in the clouds. Guild Wars 2 and TOR look truly fantastic even if it (TOR) is more Sci-Fi than I am use to. Hey it's by BioWare, it's gotta be great!

So what has you excited? Do you think 2011 will be less of a dull grind than 2010 was? I certainly hope so!
