Happy Birthday, WoW!

Pigtails, awww. Don't be fooled by her cute appearance!
If you haven't logged into WoW you might want to do so to get your feat of strength for the six year anniversary. While I think a feat of strength is underwhelming some people seem fine with it. I want a pet! I've been pouting over that as I am a lover of pets. Not really a festive birthday but I suppose The Shattering has us busy enough.

I've been doing this and that, as I've mentioned in previous posts, getting ready for Cataclysm. I couldn't help but make a new alt to play through the new revised content. I am still debating on working on my Warlock or my new little Mage. While I've made a few new little alts recently, like the Night Elf Mage I always wanted, I figured I should stay Horde as that is where my friends are and my heart is.

My Pet! He makes odd sounds...
I've played a warlock since the start of the game on and off. Highest hitting low 60's. However I've not played a Mage beyond 20. Messing around on my son and husband's doesn't count?! I know the class but not first hand and up close so I've been leaning towards it. It's been great fun and I love how you get a cool water elemental pet right off the bat, upon speccing frost. Very cool-I love pets!

That weird guy, Darnell and I.
I decided to head over to the Undead starting area which Ive always been very fond of. The changes really have been enjoyable with the quests. It's been fresh and new feeling. While the classes are the same they have a new feel starting out, which I really like. I had a blast on my Mage last night, making my way to Silverpine to quest was a good idea. I even had the 'pleasure' of seeing the Warlord call Sylvanas a bitch. The nerve! I really don't like him. I'd take Vol'jin or Sylvanas any day of the week as a leader. The Alliance think they have an ass with Varian, ha! Lets trade. I did like the quest with Darnell, what a friendly and helpful fellow he is!

Hold my hand, I'm scared.
Anyhow... I need to be making some money but I'm leaning more towards having fun on alts right now. Heck, I might even play one of these up. Today I plan on playing the Mage more and dabbling with the Lock a little also. It's nice checking out the new changes to the scenery. The Undead area is just fantastically more creepy! Hope everyone is having a blast, there's not much longer until Cata!

Where's The Love!?

Virtual hugs!

Meh, today isn't really a MMO post but about MMO blogging. I've had to cut down my feed reader as it keeps growing and really some of those sites people either quit writing or just other simple reasons- I've even had to cut out some snobby self centered bloggers from it. Anyhow, if you read my blog and want on my blogroll send me an email or add a comment!

It's odd, before I started writing I was shy and never would comment, but I read many. Once I did start writing (and adding comments) I did find out some of those bloggers, ones I had admired, were actually pretty snobby and didn't give a hoot if I read or commented on their sites. Why write if you can't take someone disagreeing in an adult like manner? Why write if you don't appreciate your readers? I don't ever want to be like that, or thought of like that.

I appreciate my blogger friends, ( like Lono, Pitrelli, MMOGamerchick, Pouncie, and many other friendly bloggers who might not always be able to answer a question but keep me in mind sometimes, like Syp) those who are always respectful and take the time to answer questions and comments. Those people are genuine and make the MMO Blogosphere worth being part of.

So even though I am boring at times or maybe sometimes I don't agree with you, I appreciate your input and support. Thanks for taking the time to comment and read my blog! Even if you don't comment I know 'you' dropped by ;)

Time Is Money! (WoW)

Ready to roll!
Lately I've been trying to get some stuff done before Cataclysm and with that came finishing up my reputations with the city factions in Azeroth. I've been so close and with the new tabards (-found by the city flight paths on the faction quartermasters-) it's easier than ever! Today I will have them all finished up, only about 2k rep left for the last one!

Vanity Plate= Time is money!
Along with all of the older city tabards the new factions were added in as well! When I found out you could already max your faction and grab a goblin mount I was ecstatic. There were people who farmed several mechanics and got the faction in as little as two hours but those ways were hot-fixed quickly. The best way is running heroics. If that isn't your cup of tea the tabards work in all old world instances as well as the ones in WoTLK.You can solo it, though it might take a little bit longer.

Last night I ended up getting my Goblin mount and it's so awesome! It's one sweet little ride. More and more people are getting them but that's cool, we're all excited about having a sweet new ride! I ended up running probably around 16 heroics this week/end and it's added up. It took me a bit as I started off slowly and picked up when Dire was home, faster queues with a healer! I even got several upgrades as the justice points were flowing in, bountiful, much faster than I initially thought they would. Not a big deal but nice to get some upgrades too! Even if it is a bit close to the expansion it's been fun and Dire has enjoyed it more than just messing about, which I do a lot of.

The only thing I do not like about the mount is it is silent. No cool sounds like other mechanical mounts. Well, when you jump it creaks. That's it! Oh Blizzard add in some sound please! It has flames coming out the back, it's not a pedal powered trike! While the Alliance are sort of in the cold with no snazzy new mount currently, well here's something that might, at least, make you laugh...

Goofin' off!
Other than that I've been working on other goals here and there. It was nice to do some heroics, we only ran into a couple of jerks but I had a bit of fun (poking fun) with them. Ya know, heroics are still so serious business right?! My Hunter's DPS has gone down a bit, it's not like she is decked out but she was doing a bit more and I do hope things even out at 85. I still love the class and while focus is fun and neat it's a bit odd going from so much mana to being focus starved at times. Let's hope for the best!

I've been exploring a little, still much to see, much to work on. I have grabbed a few new pets but nothing to brag about. It's been fun and refreshing and while I am messing about I'm (most of the time) getting stuff done. It's been real festive and I'm glad it's not over, Cataclysm will bring in a new wave of festivities! The new fishing and cooking dailies are fun, if not a bit annoying with everyone else doing them! I do like that they reward skill points, this will be nice in the future.

Good to have my healer.. Err.. Dire back!
I've made a little video showing off my new Goblin mount and a couple of the new areas for Worgen and Goblins. It's mostly to show off to some of my friends who have been absent from the game. It's short and just something fun!

Dreamy... (EQ2)

I've been a bit neglectful with EQ2 lately but I made a point to log in for the Anniversary event. I've never done it on the evil side but it was pretty much the same, a bit uglier if anything, since West Freeport is pretty much trashed. It was still fun though!

This month the server mergers are happening, which should breathe some more life into some of those corners gathering dust. I like it kind of quiet but lately it's sort of lonely feeling in EQ2, so it will surely be nice to see if things liven up a bit more on some of the less populated servers.

Anyhow, the quests were pretty much the same this year, a few little tweaks. New rewards and they were some nice things. I like the quests a lot, you can do them at any level and still get the title and rewards without a problem.

I thought I'd show off some pictures of my travels from the dreamer quest line, which rewards the Dream Hero title, I just love that title! Basically you gather shards from dreams to help him wake. ZzzZzzz... I actually enjoy the quest very much as well, it's rather, dreamy ;)

Unrest, same layout outside here. (Original EQ zone)

Red sky at night.. Necromancer's delight. It's that how it goes..?

Wake up!

A resting moment.

Gotta Catch Them All!

Yesterday was a good day to be a Hunter! I felt like I was out catching Pokémon, I had so many pets I wanted to find. It has been such a festive feeling time in Warcraft, so many people around, friends on and excited. Lono, another friend and I were in vent sharing information and thoughts and it was cool

As I mentioned yesterday I planned to get the rare blue fox, Ashtail, which I did. It took about an hour and I think I was the first to tame him on Silvermoon, if not I was one of the first! I was bombarded with questions of where to tame him, once I hit Orgrimmar. Before I had a look around the new areas, I camped him and it was very nerve wracking as there were so many Hunters around. I noticed many were in the area Wowhead listed which is not his spawn, it's an area he paths through. He spawns against the east wall and paths to the road, his spawn point is where the arrow is in the picture, if you want to grab him. I thought I'd post up his pic to show those interested. He is lovely! I named him Ash. My buddy liked him so much he went out and got one too. And they dance ;)

There are many other neat pets, another ghost like wolf, which is always up in EPL on the east hill beside Darrowshire. All can be found on petopia, check out the cool new looks. I still have a few I want to get. I got a cute little monkey too but I was sad to find I had overlooked that he isn't a tank... Oh well he's adorable.

The world looks great and it seems like a good time to make a new alt! There are fun new quests such as the singing sunflower pet quest line. Which is no cake walk! I had my son help with the last three levels, yes I suck at strategy. He rocked, he got me the cute little pet and he had fun playing through it! It's a fun quest but for some people it might be a bit tedious. You have to complete five quests with the plants vs zombie mini game and they get harder each time!

What else... Gamon is now kicking ass and taking names. Tired of being pushed around for years! He is now an 85 elite with a huge HP pool. Engineer flying mounts work on land in Azeroth, no other flying mounts seem to. There are some awesome new tabards to be gotten near the flight paths in Org and UC. And there is a cool Hunter doggie pet to go with my little pug. Woo!

I poked around in the Troll starting area and I must say I like Vol'jin, I like his attitude. He is probably my favorite Horde leader. He has character and he isn't afraid to speak his mind. I like that. It's a nice starting area and I hope to mess around some more there. I think I only got to level three but I have plenty of time to mess around. Enjoy the pictures, I know I went a bit overboard but I can't help it!

Mean, greeen, fighting machine!

I'm on a... boat?

Pinky and the brain!

Where Did You Camp Out?

The end is near!!

A bitter sweet end to an 'era'. Things will change when we log in today! So, where did you camp out? A favorite old spot, or did you forget and park in Dalaran not worrying about the changes yet? Me, I camped out in a spot waiting on a new rare spawn. He will be mine!

Last night Dire was pretty excited about playing again which was refreshing. We ran ZG for one last try at the mounts, no luck but it was fun. I did not get as much covered yesterday as I had planned. I spent way too much time toying with my phone last night. I needed to get rid of my Halloween ring tones. Then I decided I needed to do a few other things and before I realized it, it was so late! I think subliminally I was putting it off.

I'm excited. A big change from a few months ago when I was whining about being bored, change is good though. Tune back in tomorrow to see all mah new pets!!

Goodbye Old World! Just some pics of some good memories or nice places!

Check out WHU for an epic goodbye!

Getting In Gear For Cataclysm

Have you been getting things in order before Cataclysm and The Shattering? I've been trying to! It's getting closer and the shattering begins tomorrow! It's exciting and there are a few things you might want to make note of.

So, today we have one last day to see some zones, which means you may want to visit some of those, one last time, before those changes. Also note that the Dalaran/Shattrath portals will be removed!  The portals will be replaced with class trainers, oh joy. I'm not happy about this. Why revert? I'm going to skip this and put it in the back of my mind, hopefully it will stay in some dark corner and  not bother me anytime soon.

New Hunter pets! I am soo happy I will be able to grab me a fox and a cute little monkey! With the shattering changes come new looks and new beasts! Another thing that is exciting is the new race/class combinations! I will be trying a few, just for kicks. I've always wanted a Night Elf Mage.

So, there will be some cool things to explore while we wait, hopefully a new line added to the Cata events, some big finisher! I'm keeping busy with plenty to do until then! Plus Pilgrim's Bounty is here this week, it's actually an achievement I have but it's something to do for some monies.

I've worked on trades kills, still in the process actually! Paid my friend back a loan, finished some factions, worked on mounts, farmed mounts, vanity pets (omg this reminds me there are a few to try to grab today!!), rare hunter pets...

Oh the Hunter pet search has been a big time consumer and I try not to camp them! I try to just fly by but sometimes I go searching. I did manage to get Gondria and Loque'nahak but Skoll evades me. I'm not sure I even need him as my stable is filling up and I so badly want a FOX! Plus I still have my trusty ghost wolf (Grimtotem Spirit Guide), which won't be so rare in Cata as the skin will be brought back for a rare spawn- Spirit Beast. Yay for you Hunter's wanting him so badly and boo for us Hunter's who worked hard to attain and have had something unique to show for it. However, mine will still be a regular wolf where I can use in any spec, unlike this new one who will only be usable by BM hunters. Na- Na!

But yeah, I was pretty excited about the new pets, just checking through these zones real fast and they were both up (different days). I thought my heart was going to thump out of my chest while taming them, as it's been Hunter city this week in those rare spirit beast zones, I didn't want him getting snatched away. They've been like vultures, hanging around those spots! I didn't appear to be but I was looking around in different ways ;)

A tip for those looking for Gondria- If you really want to camp her, there is an easy way to look at all five spawns and keep a real good eye out. Fly up to the top of the Alter of Har'Koa and from there you can use Eagle Eye to check all the spawn points (it has unlimited range, if you can see there you can use it). Yes, track beasts does work with this so it saves a lot of time that flying would take. Though you still have to fly there if you see a spawn- but- it's a bit easier, even though it did put me to sleep a few times!

Last but not least Dire has returned. He isn't as enthused as I am so I'm not sure he will stick with it, it is nice to have him to play with as I have just been playing WoW alone most of the time lately. Maybe he'll warm up with the shattering.

Good luck with getting your ducks in a row, or whatever it is you want to do before it's too late! I figure I'll be a little busy this evening trying to scramble around with a few things. I'm so excited though, new stuff! It's about damn time.

Some useful Info!

MMO-Champion has a lot of info on what will happen tomorrow.

Mania has some Hunter pet skin change info, worth checking out. Mania does Petopia as well, such a fantastic Hunter page.

Invasions and Dreams (WoW, EQ2)

EQ2 has the anniversary event live today, the Heroes' Festival. It's an event I quite enjoy as there is a good bit to do with some fun quests and the main storyline event, which rewards the Dream Hero title. I plan on doing this event over the weekend.

There's a lot of interesting zones to visit, which are smaller copies of some places around the world. Plenty of pretty screen shots when I'm done!

And my Necromancer finally hit level 70! I'm happy to have gotten her almost caught up to where I was with the Inquisitor. I love pet classes, I always have a lot of fun with these types of characters.

Currently I'm very torn between playing EQ2 and WoW. Dire is returning to WoW this weekend and it has been several months since we played the same MMO on a regular basis and I truly miss that. He will not play EQ2 anymore, which makes me a sad panda. >_<

I suppose that is a big reason for wanting to return to WoW, I know he would follow suit and play it if I started. I also missed my friends and Cataclysm is making the return look a lot more fun.

I'm probably going to play my Hunter up before the Druid, then again if I race change the Druid to a Troll I may play her more. I'm not feeling the Tauren lately, it's still hard seeing her as a cow person lol (She was a Night Elf for so long). Right now I'm having the most fun with the Hunter. We'll see how it goes! I think I may join in on some of the invasion events with the Druid some too if I find the time.

I know everyone is making plans for Castaclysm, getting things done and out of the way, things lined up and all their ducks in a row. Good luck with whatever you're working on!

Clo Gets Her (Epic) Wings!

Look ma', no hands!

You know how it is, flying around on your 150% speed mount and here comes this person zooming past your 'old clunker' making you feel so slow, laughing as you choke in their dust. The nerve!

I've been saving up for epic flying since being back. I had a nice chunk saved up previously but helped Dire with some money for his hog. Clo has always gotten passed by on getting an epic flier and I figured it was due time she had one!

I had most of it saved up and a good friend offered me a loan which was very cool. Hopefully I will make it back this week to pay him and start saving for Cataclysm! It's good to have a fast mount again.

I've been wondering when the announcement would be made about the six year anniversary and it's currently up. I am wondering what pet we will get this year!

Today my little kitty, Tut, is sick and has to go to the vet so that's it for me for now.

Ya Got Some Powerful Mojo, Clo

A new part was released, yesterday, for the Elemental Invasion- in WoW. There's neat loot to be gotten and much fun to be had. Some people might complain about the event but I thought it had a nice epic feel to it, with all the players pitching in with these battles they could be on a massive scale. You have to fend the cities to access the bosses. Getting a group for the bosses is really easy with the LFD system too.

I really had a lot of fun and took a bunch of neat screen shots, I especially loved it when Vol'jin yelled out 'Ya got some powerful mojo, Clo!' I got a real kick out of that and it inspired me to make a video out of all my pics instead of posting a ton of them up today.

Hope you enjoy it! Song title is listed at the end, for those curious.

WoW, Free Week!

Back int he fray, as if I never left <3

This weekend I was feeling sort of lonely in EQ2 so I messed around with some free stuff like Runes of Magic. Which really is a cool game, but I tend to get bored quickly because there is such a large amount of quests in the first few levels. I find myself wanting to move on before it's time. It's a lovely game to pop into sometimes though. Right now I am trying to stay away from games where I am tempted to use cash shops and that is one I would be very tempted with!

Sometimes I like to make sure my WoW account hasn't had any trouble and I log into my account page just to make sure everything is as it should be. I've been pondering popping back into WoW before Cataclysm hits and just haven't taken the steps but it seems the choice was simple and made easy for me. I've not logged on in so long I was entitled to seven free days! That was enough to snag me- Thanks Blizzard!

I'm trying to drag Dire back with me... It's a slow process. I haven't set foot in an instance but there seems plenty to keep me busy, with Cata so close- Achievements, Farming, Daily Quests, Fishing and so on. I've already seen one of my buddies on and did an old instance run with him to try for a mount, it was like I never left.

My oh my have things changed on my characters. I still need to re-gem on my Hunter but she is pretty situated other than that. She is the one I am leaning towards for a main in Cata, however the Druid is pretty amazing with the changes. Balance, of course, is just so much more interesting and the damage is just wow! It's a tough choice for sure.

Still, I like the Hunter changes. I love no ammo, the pet changes, more (OMG) stable slots, I actually like focus and even though there are some things like the focus and removal of volley I think the class will even out down the road. It's too early to scream for the end of the world. This isn't the first class I've played that's been changed so much and it won't be the last. If I sat and cried about it I wouldn't enjoy the game for what it is. Six years of this, I think I'm finally getting thick skin ;)

So, I'm back, I'm happy and I'm getting ready for Cataclysm! Stop by and see us on Silvermoon if you're looking to kill some time before Cataclysm! If you haven't played in awhile... you've probably got some time sitting there too ;)

Interested in seven free days? More info here

AFK: Playing Games!

Go see mah stuff!

A bit of an AFK weekend, as far as the blog is concerned. Not MMO related but I thought I'd show off some of my art that I've been messing around with lately. I use to have one major hobby and it was art, mostly digital these days.I don't do as much as I'd like so I've gotten rusty anyhow... Check it out here :)

Why art today? Because I'm off playing MMO games!

Change of Scenery (EQ2)

Recently I maxed out my faction with the Blades Court in Maj'Dul, which is the only way to access the housing there. What you have to do is gain faction with one of the courts, depending on how high your faction is you can access different housing. The higher the bigger the house. I had always wanted to do so but never really put much thought into it until recently. I maxed my faction and I'm now a proud owner of a large Maj'Dul house!

I just finished my house in Neriak, not too long ago. I couldn't resist fixing one of these up though, I really enjoyed it and spent way too much time messing around with it! I think I'll stay here for awhile, I like it a lot so far. It does have a lot of the same themes, I wanted to incorporate them into this house, so I tried to change things up a little but use some of the same items and theme, while doing so.

I've found the problem for my halting in the videos and it's Game Cam, I need to use my other program but I got lazy and just used the footage I already had. Sorry for the blips, maybe the next video will go smoother. It's all about fun though so I try not to fret over a few minor things.

Thanks for taking a peek. As always feel free to drop by and check it out. I had a few people on the EQ2 forums ask about my last residence so I'm listing the address. It's-  Large Maj'Dul residence (heh) and the waypoint is -232, 138, 69, for those not familiar with the city.

Everquest II, Sixth Anniversary

This week is the six year anniversary for Everquest II! I'm excited because on the 19th (through the 30th) there will be some fun things to do in light of this anniversary. They are quite fun and I think a couple of new things will be added.

I remember when the game was released, I had Everquest friends leaving to play it. My computer back then couldn't even run it. My video card couldn't even support the pixel shaders. Finally I got a new video card and I really saw what I was missing. Now I have a computer which it runs so beautifully on, it's about time we caught up to this game!

Although I've been playing for almost four years, it wasn't until last year that I really fell hard for the game. Sure I have my complaints but it's the most fun I have in any MMO these days. It has a unique feel that I absolutely love.

So, here's to you Everquest II,  Happy 6th Anniversary!! May you bring us another happy six years! I'll be over at Screaming Monkeys today, trying to convince Lono why he needs to play ;) Head on over there at some point and check out my Five Reasons To Try Everquest II!

My Humble Abode (EQ2)

I decided to do a quick video of my Neriak house, my Necromancer's home in EQ2. I'm always moving around or trying different things so I wanted to show it off before I decided to change it up some. It's very Halloween oriented still. But.. it's more like a Necromancer's lair that way!

I used WMM but it's such a nuisance, it creates halting in videos with many small clips. I need to use Vegas again but I'm lazy and WMM is pretty easy for a quick video. You get the idea though and are able to see it well enough!

Hope you enjoy it! Feel free to stop by and take a peek in. Character is Farrah, 3 Walk of The Dead, Mistmoore server.

Also the song is the song is The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time: , Gerudo Valley - By Hyrule Symphony , for those wondering!

Surrounded

Yesterday I found myself surrounded by seven cute, little baby dragons in the Common Lands. They wanted to share a story and asked for some help. It was really cute and I had even thought one might come home to live in my Neriak home. Alas, he said his mommy would be too upset if he never returned, so they ran off into the sunset when it was time to go home.

It's things like this that separate SOE games from other MMO games. You never know when something fun like a gm (and guide) quest will happen or interaction will pop up. Even many of the players hold contests and events on many servers, which is always refreshing.

Other than being befriended by little dragons I've been working on levels, my house (it's looking so neat! Check it out*) and tradeskills. I always find something to do when I get bored with one aspect I can find something else to work on. I sometimes miss my Inquisitor but I absolutely love the Necromancer. She is now level 63 and a 32 or so crafter.

This week SOE has a Super Fan Days promotion on station cash, 50% off. Pretty nice if you wanted to buy a mount or something more expensive. It lasts until 11/09/10.

Speaking of cash shops, I hear Mythic is selling levels for ten bucks a pop. Overpriced? How much should levels go for? Should they even be sold? Why even play? I don't know about selling levels, you may as well just sell max level characters. But... they wouldn't be able to milk all that money for each level. Right?! There is no way I'd pay ten dollars for a level, way too much. Personally I enjoy the leveling part of the game.

Wherever we go these days we're surrounded by more ways to make things easier in MMO games. If you make them too easy you take away incentive. Some games simply remove things that are huge time sinks with travel, death and so on, which helps a lot.  I'm all for things being easier than they were years ago but when you cross a certain line we are left lacking a sense of accomplishment. Well, to each their own.

Safe adventures all!
