Rift: Dimension Showcase (Harvest Meadow, Gloamwood Glen)

Sharing a few pics with a couple of my dimensions in Rift today. The Harvest Meadow and Gloamwood Glen. I love the fact that you can have so many dimensions in Rift and share them easily across alts. It has to be my absolute favorite thing about Rift, the gorgeous dimensions. There are so many talented people in the community, they always astound me with their creativity.

An Unexpected Visit (SL)

I rarely, if ever, log into Second Life anymore. However, today Twiglet asked me to log in to see her land before she released it and sends all her things back to inventory. It is absolutely beautiful, the job she has done with decorating. I wanted to show off the gorgeous items that designers (other players) are able to create and how players with an eye for design can create some beautiful places within the game. It was really lovely, too lovely not to share. For some odd reason her avatar was blocked from viewing, lol, that's SL being SL for you... Sigh.

Wildstar At 50

Finally at 50 getting to see places I have been reading about or hearing about. It is nice to finally see all the zones and progress through them. Even going back for things is cool too. I'm still having a lot of fun at 50, more so than I thought I would. 50 has been quite enjoyable thus far.

December 2nd- Birthday Edition

It's my birthday! Another year full of great games and expansions to distract me. I still haven't picked up Dragon Age Inquisition. I've been so busy with other games I just haven't had time to really think about playing anything else, soon though. For now there is plenty going on in the month of December after somewhat of a content drought in many of my games.

Home Sweet Home (SL)

If there is one thing I enjoy in a game it's player housing. I love creating and designing, it's relaxing and fun for me. I decided to go with housing in Second Life again, which is different than in most games I play.

This piece of land I have is one I'm able to terraform, I can create a pond, hills, flat land and so on. I really enjoy having these options. I decided to create a pond with an island, which was a lot of fun. The land isn't huge but it is larger than my last plot, I rent it from a group which own a few other sims too. Nice people and a nice community there.

In SL you do have a prim limit on items, which is similar to an object limit except items are made up of prims, so you have to keep tabs on how many prims you are putting down. I try to use a lot of low prim items while still keeping a good look about the place. To save on some prims I made my own stone fence around my land, which turned out quite beautifully. I'll have to get some more pictures of it.

It is still a work in progress but I really am happy how it turned out thus far. I found a lovely house which has a quaint charming look that I was going for. I just adore this place, more pics when I get things finished up. Enjoy the pics!

Before- In the process of making my pond and island while filling in the rest of the land.

My island, from the back.

The house (me on a silly mount on the right).

The parlor.

Kitchen.

Loft.

Hangin' out with kitty (my friend's cat AV which looks just like my kitty IRL). Not my land, a friend's island.

On the pond.

Dragon pet and I- Beside the fence I made.

Out and about with the pets (wearing my fairy avatar).

Adventures in RoM

One great big adventure!

I'm really enjoying my time in Runes of Magic. There have been changes since I last tried the game, things like temporary mounts and pets in the cash shop pushed me away. I'm not into the whole rental thing, while there are some things like that, still, not as much that I notice them so much. Extra bag and house space is rented and I'm not too crazy about that, I'd just like to purchase it once and be done with it or not at all.

Other than that the game has a nice laid back feeling. I don't feel in a huge rush to level, or purchase tons of cash shop stuff all the time, just enjoying the game as I go. The quests are fun, my character kills things at a decent rate and I am a Priest. I am slacking on my secondary class but I've read that some people wait until higher levels and turn in quests on the secondary class and get a major boost all at once, instead of slowly leveling both. That seems more fitting for me at this place in time.

My spring pets and I.

I haven't gotten knocked off my mount once, what a relief! I hate when MMO games have mobs that knock you off your mount every few mobs or so. I've been exploring and gaining quite a few titles. There are some special events in the game now and I've gotten a few neat titles and items. The coolest thing is a pet transformation potion. If you feed it to a pet it will permanently transform them. In this case it was the cutest little white bunny with brown spots, I had really been hoping for one! You have a traveling companion pet, which boosts stats and, at times, fights with you, it is a bit random. You can also have a 'vanity' type pet out too, which is just for looks. The newbie pet, in my pictures, was a promotional gift from months ago and offers advice and a few other benefits, it is a nice little vanity type pet with a plus side!

Our guild castle.

I joined a nice guild and checked out the guild castle. In this game guilds get huge castles. I am not sure how much space you actually get to decorate them but the whole castle thing is really a nice bonus of being in a guild. It even has an outdoor area. If I ever make it to higher levels, I could see myself creating a guild to have my own castle, heh. For now it is nice to have other people to talk to and learn from.

There is always something to do. Gathering pet food at the pet farm, the daily pet tame 'task', much cheaper than buying traps! Simply hand in a golden egg to the pet trainer guy and he will let you tame a pet a day. I like the pet system but I am still trying to find out what happens if a pet gets too hungry, will it die, will it run away? I am in the process of starving a boar pet to find the conclusion of this nagging question. Poor little Bacon, I hope he makes it through this experiment, even if he is more for a melee based character, he is quite cute.

I really enjoy having different pets that can assist me (sometimes, they tend to be lazy), add in innate bonus effects and just have cute little traveling companions. There are so many different looks I keep finding myself chasing people down to get a closer look at the neat pets they have! Pets can also harvest for you, a nice quality for those who don't really like to gather materials. It costs for the tools but in the end I don't think it is too bad of a deal.

Taking care of my plants.

The housing system isn't very robust, but I really like having housing still. I have extra 'bank' slots there, I can go there to swap out primary and secondary classes (higher up there will be three total) and I have some plants I take care of, growing things and selling the harvests for profit. I have two potted plants I fertilize and water at all times. It is something different to do on the side.

There is an auction house and in this FTP game there isn't anything prohibiting you to use it. I am very glad, as in some of my FTP games not being able to utilize all the AH aspects really kills things for me. I use it quite often and it has helped my income greatly.

My snazzy new title!

Maybe I will grow tired of it in a few levels, I don't know. All I know is I am loving it, it's fun right now. Maybe it is the little things, or perhaps something new, that have me pulled in. I like the cloth armor appearance, the pet system has me happy as a bug in a rug and I'm glad to have housing in this type of MMO. I've never given the game a fair try and it really is much better than I initially thought. It feels very smooth and fluid, which helps with staying power. So, if you're looking for something free and fun, it is worth it. I did drop a few dollars into a basic mount for travel, I think it is well worth it in the long run- Plus it supports the game.

I plan on writing more as I venture further in the game. Until then , safe adventures all! Have a great week.

Change of Scenery (EQ2)

Recently I maxed out my faction with the Blades Court in Maj'Dul, which is the only way to access the housing there. What you have to do is gain faction with one of the courts, depending on how high your faction is you can access different housing. The higher the bigger the house. I had always wanted to do so but never really put much thought into it until recently. I maxed my faction and I'm now a proud owner of a large Maj'Dul house!

I just finished my house in Neriak, not too long ago. I couldn't resist fixing one of these up though, I really enjoyed it and spent way too much time messing around with it! I think I'll stay here for awhile, I like it a lot so far. It does have a lot of the same themes, I wanted to incorporate them into this house, so I tried to change things up a little but use some of the same items and theme, while doing so.

I've found the problem for my halting in the videos and it's Game Cam, I need to use my other program but I got lazy and just used the footage I already had. Sorry for the blips, maybe the next video will go smoother. It's all about fun though so I try not to fret over a few minor things.

Thanks for taking a peek. As always feel free to drop by and check it out. I had a few people on the EQ2 forums ask about my last residence so I'm listing the address. It's-  Large Maj'Dul residence (heh) and the waypoint is -232, 138, 69, for those not familiar with the city.

Options (EQ2)

Yesterday I saw I was listed on the EQ2 Players Town Crier, I was tickled pink! *Does the happy dance*..  Ahem.. Excuse me, I get carried away sometimes. So, if you're new around here feel free to share your thoughts or comments- don't be shy- and have a look around! Today I thought I'd just ramble on about some of the options I've really been enjoying in EQ2.

First up on the list is Mentoring!
If you're like me, you have friends who play at different paces and times. So sometimes meeting up and playing together can be tough. Especially if there are level differences. Yesterday a couple of my friends and I decided to do some adventuring. We were 58, 56 and 90. With such a gap in levels, it's always been hard in other games to group with friends on certain characters but here in Norrath, it's not a problem. Which is oh so very nice. We actually had an odd make up of a group Xailia 'The Leeroy train lovin' Wizzy, Landuran 'Tank in TEH FACE Beastlord style' Fury and myself the Inquisitor- We died a lot, had some laughs and got some xp. We had fun and that is what counts. So while we may play at different paces, there is always the middle ground where we can meet up.

While it is very nice to be able to group with my friends it's also nice to group with my husband, Dire, who likes to stop and AA while I level. So that is a really big deal for us right there. It cuts out on the feeling that someone is being 'left behind'. Mentor down and it's all gravy.

So you like to play house? Player Housing
EQ2 was the first game I had a chance to really get into player housing with. It's really a nice option to have in a game. It's not playing house, it's actually fun to design your place, show off your trophies and so on. While it's really a lot of fun to design, not everyone is going to like it for just that. There are nice perks to having a house. Storing your sales crates and selling from your house is handy too or having a door to the guild hall. As the game moves on in levels you still have those things you accomplished in gaining sitting there in your house showing that 'Hey, I did this'. A little piece of Norrath is 'mine'- it's a nice feeling. Some of the designs people do with their houses simply amaze me.

*Looks for some mushroom rings...* Monthly Events
I love the city festivals and moonlight enchantment events that happen each month. It sort of breaks things up, giving me something else to look forward to. Plus if you're into the player housing you are surely looking for a little something else to use for props. Even if that isn't your thing there's other benefits- Tradeskill xp for some of the questing and you can always make some money off the items you acquire. Hurry up Freeport Festival!!

*Click...Whirl...Whirl..Click* Tradeskills
Tradeskills have separate levels all in themselves. It's a whole different game almost. There are quests, levels, instances and factions just for this part of the game. While I've been slack lately, I know it's out there waiting for me, something different and refreshing to work on. The amount of items you can make is just massive. There are so many different trades you can pick from, there's bound to be something to catch your fancy.

Looking for something cool? Status
Status is something that was really new for me. In order to use your status you must be in a guild and have a guild level appropriate to the item's requirement to purchase it. Really it's not complicated as it sounds. IE; You're in a guild it's level 40, you want to buy a status item then you must have the amount of status and guild level required to purchase it. I just love the stuff you can buy- houses, mounts, armor, titles, crafting tools and so on. It's really a neat and unique aspect of the game.

Status isn't just for buying things, when you gain status it helps level the guild- a portion goes to the guild. So it's a very important thing for guilds and is tied into having a guild. It's one of the nice perks about EQ2 that I enjoy. I like to buy a lot of stuff and then I tire of it at times, the nice thing is I can always sell it back. Whew!

So there you have it, just some of the things that I've been really enjoying about EQ2 lately. How about you? What are some options you enjoy in-game? You don't have to play EQ2 to share something that you enjoy about a game!
