Anniversaries

There are a few anniversaries at the end of this year, EQ2 and WoW are both 15! The blog here is 10! It feels like time just is flying by and it was only yesterday I started this blog. Hopefully I'm still blogging for years to come, a bit more than I do these days at least.

Summer Festivities

Rift has Summerfest going in fulls wing, it crept up on me this year. I didn't know when it was heading to us and then it was here. Also there is another event running, Grim Remembrance. Lots to do with these two events. Tons of neat stuff for my decorating obsession, pics in the next post. Lots and lots of cool stuff to collect this year. I've been playing Rift and LoTRO doing events and collecting stuff. Summertime is fluff heaven for me this year. 

Celebrations & Festivals

Lots of events going on as summer heats up. Last week EQ2 had another new celebration release, which was the Scorched Sky Celebration. LoTRO is having the Summer Festival return and then come back in a few weeks for an encore. Neverwinter has the Summer Festival event going as well, I haven't had a chance to try that again this year but I saw a new snail mount that looked pretty sweet. I haven't really noticed much else that has caught my eye, Wildstar is having some double xp currently as well as the upcoming residential renovation. 

GW2: Path of Fire

On Friday I logged into GW2 to check my daily login rewards and then I saw... mounts. I hadn't picked up the expansion but right then and there I knew I had to have a mount or few too. So, I dabbled around over the weekend in the Crystal Desert. No real spoilers here on story, just some thoughts on what I've experienced so far.

Riders of Icarus- First Impressions

Last week I tried out one of the newly 'released' games (open beta as of now) Riders of Icarus. It seems to be pretty decent of a game thus far. This isn't a review, merely throwing my thoughts out there on my impression of the game so far with some shiny pics.

Eye Candy: Shameless Selfie Edition

Capturing shots as I travel across various worlds ;) Starting off with a shameless WoW selfie... I cannot wait for the Legion pre-patch to hit... Cosmetic rewards! That and I am down to like five bag slots on most of my characters. It cannot come soon enough. I am guessing around July 19th, from reading up. Let's hope it is that close.

I wanted to write a post on some of the older games I have checked into recently, as well as some I haven't checked into for quite awhile. Some of them are pretty obscure and just things I downloaded on a whim. Going to try to keep the post from droning on but at the same time just making some notations on what I've peeked into. Later today flying will hit WoW in the latest expansion. A bit late but better than never, right? I won't have it unlocked tomorrow, or perhaps this week, maybe next week. You see, I was leveling alts, working on my other characters and now I have four sitting at 100-- and thus I had to pick which I wanted to get the achievement on... Or rather which had completed more daily quests for the reputation. I'm the type of player who likes to hop around and play them all on different days, which means this whole achievement really isn't aimed for my style of play. I could say I didn't really know it was that close, but I did, I just didn't care that much, honestly.

So, I missed the last day for Vanguard. Real life interfered. I felt so bad! I am glad that I did log in and get a chance to take some last screens, my only regret is not getting to take pictures of all the players saying good bye. Nobody was anywhere to be seen days before. I will always have a lot of nice memories of the game. Many wishes of what could have been. It will surely be missed.

I have about a week of playtime left on Wildstar. So far I've played my stalker up to 22 and made a new warrior on the Dominion to 17. I wanted to check out the other faction's city, see how things were over there. Overall I think the questing is simply smoother and a far more enjoyable experience overall. Then again had I picked a different starting area for my Exile I might have enjoyed it more. I have to say I lean towards the Exile simply because that's where the population is.

Chugging Along

Things are chugging away slowly in FFXIV. This probably has to be one of the worst weekends for a launch to hit, with a holiday here in the US. They are just hammered around the clock this weekend. The servers are flooded, I can't get in most times and just give up after repeated tries. Even if I do get in, either the US/EU servers are not pulling in the list, or the JP servers won't show.

I've rerolled already from EU to JP and this server has filled up as well. New servers this week, how will that impact the current servers? Do I reroll again? Ugh. Both my characters sit at 11 and it was slow going with all the lag, mobs being annihilated by the masses, waiting on respawns, not even being able to log in, crashing then not being able to log in. All in all it has been a mixed bag. I love the game, hate the log in problems and over population. I'll wait it out though.

Yesterday I played a bit, enjoying my conj, but gave up many times trying to log in, as I didn't want to waste the day trying to play rather than actually playing something. In time it will smooth out, for now it really is crazy. When I finally got logged in at one point, my son wanted help with the barrens weekly in WoW. Which I couldn't say no, so I logged and took Dire out there to help him. I mostly played WoW on Sunday simply because I could not log in, the guys liked that, heh.

Hopefully I'll be able to log in and get rolling sooner than later >.>

For now just sharing some more shots. FFXIV is truly a gorgeous game. Some WoW shots in the mix too, it looks so much better with my new video card. Have a great Labor Day, those of you in the US!
