EQ2 + Tinkerfest= Gir!

It seems a bit of humor was added to this Tinkerfest this year! It was pretty hard not to notice that the cute little robot quest reward we get this year is modeled after my favorite cartoon character, Gir, from Invader Zim. I thought I'd catch a short clip of him saying his phrases, except the video was a little grainy so I added captions.

Anyhow, the event has been very fun, more on that later though. I just was so tickled that I now have my own little Gir, well Girr*, since I can't use that exact name. I had named him Cogsworth ...Until I saw who he really was ;)

You can find details on the quest here!

Happy Tinkerfest!

Rusty Hearts Closed Beta (Keys)

A slow summer, not too much new. That isn't a bad thing though if you're enjoying what you're playing. I think the year will go out with a bang, lots of stuff to look forward to! Here and there we've had a few things pop up for some excitement, Rusty Hearts is one of the games I've looked forward to trying. Yesterday Rusty Hearts went into closed beta.

I plan on trying it soon, I've just been busy but I did notice the day arrived...and passed, hehe. I don't know how easy it is to get into closed beta, I remember Forsaken World wasn't too easy, at least for me, I never made it into CB. I thought I'd pass on a couple of CB keys that I just have sitting there.

It looks like a fun and fast paced game. I really like PWE games so I think this one could be a decent title. Enjoy the keys!

First come first get:

Ding 90!

The climb to 90 is over for Nyomi!
Yesterday I hit 90 with my inquisitor in EQ2! I'm pretty happy, after playing on and off for the last four years it is about time I actually hit the cap with a character. I've dabbled around and played on a few servers, following friends around and leaving alts behind, my next highest is a 70 necro but she is on another server. It's a nice feeling and there still feels like so much to do. Working on my epic/mythical weapons quest, public quests, daily stuff, groups, house stuff, tradeskills, progression through Destiny of Velious and so on.

Dire hit 80 yesterday and I'm very proud of him, he is catching up with me! I'll be trying to help him catch up with these last final few, as much as I can. He is still enjoying things as much as me which is good. It's been awhile since we both played a game we enjoyed this much. I really look forward to playing my characters and progressing them. There always seems so much to do no matter what level you are.

Our awesome T3 guild hall, I just love it!
Our guild has been wonderful. Helping with 90 gear and xp some. Bless their hearts they tried so hard to help with my last few levels, in the end questing was the fastest way, I went on a quest rampage yesterday. I stockpiled a bit of gear from one member mailing me things here and there and I also started doing public quests at 85 for gear. I shot up from about 14k hp to 21k with the gear switch at 89 to 90. Velious, which had been tough for me at 89, was much easier at 90 in the new gear. The new stuff is a huge help. The public quest gear is a big help and I'm going to try to drag Dire out there at 85 to start working on some for him. It makes a massive difference.

Anyhow, as I starting saying, the guild has been great. We do groups on a regular basis and it is full of a fun bunch of people. Not a huge guild but a nice and close knit bunch of us.  It's nice to feel so at home in a guild again. I've had several of them tell me to start my epic quest and they'd be there to help whenever, which is nice because I never really thought too much about it. It always seemed something very out of reach. I plan on trying to work on it next week some.

My new Conjuror.
Dire and I want to work on another couple of alts for dps classes when we want a change of pace from tank and healer. He will probably go with a scout or necromancer and I've already made a conjuror. The conjuror is very similar to the necro class but different enough for it not to feel like playing the same class over. I'm very excited about working on this alt, I already have her to 13 and it is quite fun so far. Plus I get a nice 20% xp veteran bonus for having a 90, yay!

The dragon ring event is still going on our server. It is getting close to the end. I don't know if I will try to really be there for the very end of it, I have 200+ emblems just sitting there to use at the vendor. I may pass a few onto my alts. I did manage to get a title for the wizard spire and the bauble, which ports you to the Eastern Wastes. Very handy to have, I really want the Great Divide portal on my main and alt. Handy for getting out there for public quests! Plus some other fun stuff like the mount pictured above, for my alt.

This weekend Friday- Sunday is a bonus xp weekend in EQ2. 100% Bonus xp! I will probably spend it helping Dire hit some levels, working on AA for my inquisitor and leveling the Conj too.

Safe adventures! Have a great week!

Minecraft Cake... Yum! (Thanks Encrazed Crafts!!!)

OM NOM NOM! So cute we could eat it, my cats already tried, literally.

A while back Encrazed Crafts had a pay it forward post going and I was one of the lucky ones to be able to participate. While nobody took me up on my offer (*sad face*) I was sent a really nifty gift from them. However the first package was lost or either stolen in the mail, which was a real bummer. But those kind folks decided to send me another package, which got here last night! Yay!

Maybe there is another heavenly cake in the box!

My kitties were pouncing on me to see what was in the box, before I could rip it open Tut was on the counter trying to get into the box. Weird, he never gets on the counters because he knows it bugs me. Then comes along Salem, mewing to see what is in my hand. Both are rubbing all over the box and what appears to be a... Minecraft cake!!! Very, very cool! My son (who loves Minecraft) just thought it was awesome.

While I was trying to read the note that came along with the fluffy stuffed cake, and hold it out of reach from rabid kitties, I see that the note says it was stuffed with (CAT DRUGS!) Catnip. Ok, maybe not cat drugs but mine go  LOOPY over catnip. LO-CO!

Yes, they got to play with the cake a bit, they fought over it then fought on top of it, after that I had to take it away because I didn't wank yucky kitty slobber all over it. Then they decided to take turns inserting their heads inside the package to smell the remnants of the heavenly cake. Once, already, one of them snuck onto my desk and carried it off....

A big thank you to Encrazed Crafts! It was truly adorable! If you're a minecraft junkie, head on over there, if not head on over there anyhow, always a good read! Enjoy the pics ;)

They even took over the note...

It is MINEEE!

No! MINE!!!

You wanna fight me for it?!!

Happy Days (EQ2)

Today the Druid ring event starts back in EQ2, this evening actually. I'm glad it will be live again though I didn't mind it being down a few days to in order for it to be fixed so that more people could participate. I do want to be there for the end on my server, we'll have to see!

Things have been going really great, not getting bored with so much to do. I really love the Sentinel's Fate expansion and questing there, lots of fun quests, good rewards and even some fluff for a junkie like me. I have been doing a few quests in Velious but I will most likely wait until I hit 89 or 90, that stuff has a lot of hit points and it hits hard. I can solo out there but it slows down (currently 87), I figured the best bet would be to finish off what I can in SF. Plus I got a pet I have always wanted, this mean looking kitty pictured to the left. I suppose I just like the model for some reason, it reminds me of my (bad kitty) Salem.

I've been participating in the public quests which truly rock! I love public quests and I think more games should offer them. A nice deviation from the norm. Every hour there is a public quest to take part in and I've always had more than enough people to group with. I have some nice armor waiting on me for 90, from these events already, about five pieces. I'm pretty excited.

Sorry for the short post today, in bit of a rush to head out! Safe adventures all.

Postcards From Norrath

Veeshan's Peak- Blast from the past!
My EQ2 Inquisitor is sitting just a few bubs away from level 87, progress is going quite well. I quest and group in the evenings and that has been a lot of fun. My guild is a good bunch and now that I am getting closer to the cap I am asked to join in on groups on a regular basis. It still feels weird getting asked to heal those places I've always been too low for! I'm not specced purely healer either, but it works, I end up doing things I didn't think I could. Sometimes we crash and burn but we try a boss again and most of the time get it on the next round, which is always a great feeling. I know once I hit 90, gain better gear and have all my spells bought up, I will be doing much better.

My guild leader said he might start tanking more if I was going to be healing, which was really flattering to me. I enjoy healing and I'm glad I can help out in the groups with that role. Most the time it has just been three of us as we sometimes play late at night but it has been a lot of fun. Lots of fun, jokes and just good times. Which really opens up a whole new game for me, seeing things I haven't yet.

My snazzy new shield!
Last night I saw a shield I really wanted in auction, it was appearance only and there were some bids on it. I wanted it but I was outbid, I ended up letting it go after a certain point, not wanting to put too much into it. Awhile later the person auctioning it sent me a tell asking if I still wanted it (for my last bid price) and I took them up on it. I could do the instance it drops in (I do sometimes, with no luck) but I have such crummy luck! So, now I have a lovely heart shaped shield to carry around on my adventures. It was a good day in EQ2. Yes, you can bid items off in the auction channel, many people bid on raid gear which is kinda cool- but expensive!

I've been working on all of my factions in the Sundered Frontier and one of my favorites has been the Hua Mein. The Hua Mein are a bunch of panda (warriors) people who are hidden away from society, deep in the mountains. My faction broke off abruptly and will have to be continued as a daily quest at 90, which really put me off. Most of the items on the faction merchants are for level 80. There are still several items I want so I'm itching to get to 90 so I can finish it off. I am sure it will take some time, being locked behind daily quests. I do love the Hua Mein, they have a nice story behind them, lots of cool lore, plus I just want to hug one, they are too cute!

Yesterday, after the update, I saw that the new Felwithe and island housing had been added to the live game, but they were not in the cash shop. They are really awesome, the Felwithe Mansion is just gorgeous, I have to have it. I wish they'd put it up already, I can't wait for it to be MINE! It looks like nothing more will be added until next week (at the very least) as they are still being tweaked on test. And... the spire/ring event still hasn't been added back in. I hope it will be soon! Today Moonlight Enchantments are here, I am off to visit some enchanted brownie grottos!

Leaving you some postcards (screenshots) from Norrath ;)

Hope everyone is having a great week!

What If You Were Banned?

What would you do if you were banned from your favorite MMO? The question popped into my head after hearing Swifty (a PvP warrior from the vanilla years who makes videos about PvP) was banned recently. From what I understand, Swifty held an event on his server and was live streaming it. Apparently so many people showed up which crashed the server. He was banned for being the 'cause'. Honestly, did Blizzard think that all of those fans would be happy to see him banned? Those customers?

Fortunately Swifty regained his account as it was unbanned a day or so later. I am happy for him because he is very passionate about his hobby, plus I always enjoy watching his videos, he's a riot. (Yay Swifty!)Years ago I started watching him with Dire, who was a huge PvP fan when he played. So I was very shocked and really felt badly for Swifty.  Many, many fans were upset about the ban and tried to support with things such as a petition on the forums (which was deleted) and video responses as well as trying to crash the server again or just shouting in SW City. I honestly think it was a silly reason to ban someone, perma- ban at that! Maybe a suspension or a warning I could see.

What if you didn't have that kind of support and were banned for something silly that you really didn't mean to  do or know would cause you a ban? Oh come on, you know it has happened before. You let your spouse, girlfriend, boyfriend, roomie...  log in on your account, that is breaking the ToS! Don't pretend you don't break it! Would you still play, go out and buy a fresh account maybe? Or would you really be upset and leave the company/game for good?

I have so many accounts across different games that it sometimes doesn't feel like I have a main game but I have several with many characters I am deeply tied to, I would probably walk away and not look back. Don't think I wouldn't put up a fight, I'd be all over customer support as far as I could go, if it was a petty reason- And it would be because I won't do anything to endanger my account. For some people that might be harder, if it is your only game, you might not want to play another. What if you invested a great deal of money into cash shop items and services? I'd be pretty upset.

So, what would you do if you were perma-banned from your favorite MMO?

Weekend Recap: On Hold (EQ2)

Last week the EQ2 world event to rebuild the druid and wizard spires was released, on most servers it was almost completed the first day. I managed to get out there the next morning, pretty early too. I had read, on the forums, that progress was flying by, I really wanted a chance to see it. The cycle was suppose to be on a three hour timer (with errand quests in between) but instead it was every thirty minutes, so on Friday the EQ2 team took the event down, I think it was because not everyone would have a chance to complete it. Hopefully Tuesday it will be hotfixed and go live once again.

I'm glad though because it really was going too fast. Some servers reported completing the final event with no rewards and they want compensation. I don't know what will, if anything, be done about that. I do think everyone deserves a chance to log in and take part at working on the rewards.

I didn't play much over the weekend, had a stressful weekend and wasn't feeling well but Sunday night we managed to do an instance which was pretty fun. I also did some questing and house decoration. I am pretty close to 86, not rushing it. I'll probably make an alt once I hit 90, something to dabble around on the side.

That pretty much sums up the weekend. Hope everyone had a great one.

Flying High At 85 (EQ2)

Flying! Yay!

I have been playing mostly EQ2 this week, slowly progressing to my latest goal 85- Which I hit! It is a special milestone for me since I can now fly and I am only five levels from the cap. I am really enjoying my time back in Norrath, very glad I picked back up on the inquisitor. She is my highest character so hitting the cap is sort of a big deal for me, as I have poked along in EQ2 on and off for the last four years. Just five more levels to go!

Recently I managed to max out my faction in the city of Erudin. With factions, in EQ2, there are rewards such as gear, housing items, mounts and other neat odds and ends. I was excited about this since I obtained a few gear upgrades as well as some fun housing items being unlocked to me. Questing along from 83-85 went smoothly and before I knew it I had maxed out my faction, I wasn't even expecting to do this!

Funky boss fight with guildies, bouncing around in this shot.

I managed to group up with a few guild members recently, which was fun. I managed to snag a nice weapon that Dire will be able to use in a few levels, so he was real happy about that. Getting closer to the max opens up new doors when it comes to grouping, which is great. I'm starting to feel like I'm part of things again. There is still much for me to learn but I am taking things slowly, the level cap isn't going anywhere (for several years, or so they say- Which I am glad about).

I might take a day [or few, lol] off of leveling and work on some housing. I have really been wanting to do some stuff but I wanted to get 85 out of the way first. I wanted to FLYYYYYY! How is flying? It's great. While the leaper mount was a huge help for questing, and yeah fun at some points, the flying mount is so much nicer. Especially if you have wrist problems- it makes light work on travel.

I just love this mount. I like how the barding ties in with the wings.

I also had some awesome customer support, this week. That is always great to see in the game of choice! Not too much else is new. Just chillin' out and having fun in Norrath. Dire is still playing, which makes me happy.

Hope everyone has a great day. Safe adventures and all that ;)

Looking Forward To Updates- EQ2... & VANGUARD!

This weekend was full of lots of interesting news. Fan Faire gave us a lot of insight of what is in store for EQ2, which I mentioned some of those things in my last post. Beastlords are looking really cool! Mercenaries will be in  four 'flavors': Tank, Heals, Ranged DPS and Melee DPS. I am excited about that, our duo will become more rounded out when we can't find a group!

EQ2 is also getting a (same server) Dungeon Finding System. I think this will be a great thing, keeping things more or less local and in check but offering the ease of an automated system instead of spamming chat constantly. Lots of really fantastic things seem to be in store for EQ2 in the months ahead. Just next month GU61 is planned to release and in November the next expansion is due out. Lots of content! Check out EQ2Wire, tons of info there. I really am thankful for the work Feldon put into getting all this information to us over the weekend.

Great, and I mean GREAT, news for Vanguard players: Vanguard will be getting some updates! It isn't clear just when or what exactly, check out the article on Massively. There are a few tidbits there about just what the direction will be. I about fell out of my chair upon reading the headline ;) Very exciting news, I am so happy Vanguard will be getting the love it needs!

I'm chugging along in EQ2. One more level until flying, I cannot wait! I've not done very much with housing but I have been itching to, just trying to get some levels out of the way first. It has been sort of slow because I've been sort of.... lazy! Dire is still playing and he is catching up to me, he hit 71 over the weekend that was about three levels which was very nice for him. I'm glad he is enjoying his return to Norrath. We also decided to get our leapers last week. It was fun doing the quest together, even if we did blow through it.

Right now it is very nice to be playing a game together again. Especially one we can enjoy and be laid back with. No pressure and we can duo quite easily, even while he is trying to catch up. Lots of things to look forward to with the game, very glad to be back!

Yay- Beastlords! (EQ2)

My EQ Beastlord.

Yesterday evening I saw EQ2 Wire had some really interesting info on the new EQ2 expansion. We've all been hearing about the new class and many have assumed it would be the beastlord. I figured it would because that would be the only one missing from the original line up (as in Everquest). I was very happy to hear that it indeed is the new class! Here are a few things that were mentioned:

* Tradeskill Apprentices
* Reforging items (Changing stats around, customizing items).
* Increased AA limit
* Mercenaries — NPC players to help fill out a group (more info in tomorrow’s panel)
* Beastlord — 25th class
* Build your own dungeon system

I was surprised to read about mercs being an addition. Many people may be hesitant but it will help round out groups or make duoing certain aspects a bit more cushy. I do look forward to mercenaries and hope to see more than just healers and tanks, I'd like to see DPS mercs right off the bat.

Build your own dungeons? That has some potential, especially for those of us who love housing and being creative. I am wondering how this will pan out. Seems like it could be a lot of fun.

This expansion is scheduled for November of this year so it looks like we don't have a huge wait ahead of us. I am very excited about some of the additional things being added but I still have much I want to do with Velious, like hitting the level cap! I'm not going to regurgitate the info out there that has been posted up, check  out EQ2Wire here. Also check out ZAM, I saw mention of authenticators there. And you can tune in live- more info here. Very exciting stuff and.... YAY BEASTLORDS!

Hideouts Are Here!

Today the Champions Hideouts are here! Yesterday I was a bit put off because I really wanted to check them out and pick mine our, but the wait was worth it and I was very happy to see they were implemented today. It was very tough to choose from them all. There are four which gold members can choose from, upon logging in you gain a free token to pick one out (click hideout button or type /hideout). There are more plans for adding additional hideouts soon, oh the choices!

I went with the Sanctum because it was very classy looking. I also liked that it had a skylight where you can look up and see the moon, very mystical looking place with floating books all over, I'm happy with my choice! The rooms are already furnished but you can customize them a tad, carpet color and so on. Plus, there is an emote to sit in a chair (my EQ2 character is so envious) which is very cool for lounging around the hideout! Additional hideouts can be bought in the cash shop, you can have multiple hideouts if you like.

Aftershock 6, the final issue, is out today. I am excited about finishing this series up. It sounds like it has a very cool ending and it should be fun to work on. I hear there is a really nice reward, I won't give any spoilers. If you want thoughts and spoilers check here.

I'm off to save the day in AS:6, with my hero, and then lounge around the Sanctum ;)

All Access

Yesterday Dire and I were trying to decide which MMO to play together. We wanted something we could be casual in. I wanted something with mentoring (no person left behind!), fluff and fun stuff to dabble around in too. This narrowed down to AoC, EQ2 and CO. We considered WoW but we both agreed we're tired of constant meter spam, gear score and basically the competitive/elitist additudes overrunning the game. Not to say we don't enjoy WoW, we're just tired of some aspects and need breathing room in a laid back environment.

So, we ended up deciding on EQ2. Travel is quick and painless, the community is decent and we can group even if we have a huge level gap. Dire was very excited about the new mount speed (130%), he zoomed around on his mount. I decided to start us off with something very laid back, to get him back into the swing of things. I've been [semi] gone but I still pop into EQ2X quite often, (he wanted to play on the live server where his 68 SK is) so I have to refresh him on a few things but he did very well.

We headed out to Tenebrous Tangle to do the quest for the glider mounts and it was quick and easy at our levels. This mount has to be tweaked a bit because the controls are quite horrible. I read on the forums, yesterday, they will be tweaking them to not be so sensitive to turning. They are really hard to control sometimes. Quite nice to look at though! Tonight we will work on the leaper mounts in Butcher Block. Those are far easier to control and I like the stability they offer. I can pretty much steer them where I want to land. I will be very glad to get my first flying mount though, in three levels. That is my new goal!

My EQ2 account had lapsed so I decided to reactivate with the SOE All Access plan. That way I could continue my adventures in Vanguard. I mean it is only a couple more bucks really and I can mess around with EQ also, a deal I can't pass up! I really have a soft spot for VG. The thing is, my EQ2 account which was activated, (this station account, I have three) was the one with my EQ2 character I wanted to play but my VG cleric is on another (and my EQ main on, yet, another). I decided to re-make some characters on this account for VG, currently I am playing a necromancer.

EQ2 is the main staple but I think VG will be a contender for my time! I'm really enjoying the class. I suppose it really reminds me of the necromancer I played in Everquest. My first class in an MMO. It is fragile and I have to be really careful, a big change from the cleric. I will probably make another cleric too because I really love the class.

So, wish me luck at keeping the Mr. entertained with EQ2. It is always so nice to have someone to play with on a regular basis. Safe adventures all!

Weekend Dabbles

Hope everyone had a splendid weekend! We had a nice BBQ with family but this year the holiday felt odd. No sounds of fireworks in the distance, no beautiful lights filling the sky. It has been too dry here in Houston, thus no fireworks for us this year. Hot and dry, very hot.

Over the weekend I dabbled in a few games. I wanted to get another feel for AoC, it has been two summers ago that I first started this blog and AoC was one of my first games I wrote about. I really enjoyed it but one of the biggest problems was once leaving Tortage the performance went down the drain. Some of the cities are quite massive with tons of textures to load. Since then the game has had some things touched up, helping with performance on many machines, plus I am using a better machine this time. It runs well and looks beautiful this time around!

I really like the world of Hyboria. I wanted to jump back in on my Necromancer and continue advancing with her, picking off where I left off two years ago. Over the weekend I gained three levels and it seemed to just fly by, I fell back into place even joined a guild. The class is different than any other pet class I have played and so it takes some thought. I also can die easily if I don't think things through and I am still learning as I go. I have one lifetap spell and another spell to drain life from my minions which has saved my tail many times, especially when running away, heh.

From what I understand subscribers get the expansion included, which makes me consider subbing. Offline levels would be nice too. I am tempted to sub, I am still thinking on it. I do think it holds a lot of promise for something to stick with. Plus there have been some solo dungeons added, I like that.

I didn't do too much in Champions Online. My playtime was pretty low for gaming this weekend but I managed to hop on last night, before bed, and try the new aftershock issue again. I couldn't kill the mobs fast enough before the black wall of nothing started licking at my heels, eating up the whole zone, and me, if I didn't move! I hate rushing so once again I didn't enjoy this mission. I skipped a lot of mobs, ran to the end and killed the last boss. I didn't know he was the last boss, so I was surprised when the cuts scene told me it was to be continued. On a good note hideouts are out tomorrow! I am so excited! Plus a new issue maybe? Should be a good day for CO.

I really blew my seven days free in WoW, I didn't realize it was almost over, today being the last day. Everyone is just showing off shiny epics standing around. I want housing or appearance slots and WoW seems so 'small minded' when I compare it to many of my other games that offer fun stuff that ties you in. I just think I'd have more fun level locking a class at a level bracket I enjoy more than end game. I played on a few alts and think I enjoyed that the most.

EQ2 had some festivities going and I logged in to check these out on EQ2X. Some really cool fireworks (for housing  and a free sparkler in the cash shop. I had hoped for some double xp in EQ2 and Vanguard this weekend but I suppose it didn't happen after all.

I also had a little time to check into Vanguard briefly. While the levels go slowly I enjoy the world and the questing. I still have time on my account and I want to pick it back up. I have gotten sort of slack with it, but I have also done so with many other games. I blame it on all this F2P allure! I'd love to play Vanguard on a regular basis if I could get Dire to play it with me. He sort of drifted away from it after a very brief time. Like a flame his interest burned bright and sort of snuffed out rather quickly. I think he should have given it more of a chance. Some huge hiccups on the server really aggravated him, the game does have a bit of server lag, at times.

Speaking of Dire, he is once again looking for a MMO to play again. He has been playing a lot of golf and I think he misses playing a game with me. I did play golf with him yesterday and now he is considering what MMO to play with me. I am very open to many so I try to let him pick something he can stick with. He is considering EQ2 or WoW. So we will see if he does go back to an MMO. I want something we can duo in regardless of levels. EQ2 or CO would be the best bet but I don't see him playing CO. I would go back to WoW with him, I missed it a lot last week, but I'd prefer to do something new this time around.

So, just looking for something to draw me in till endgame and then some. Sort of just playing what I'm in the mood for day to day. I'd like to give some more thoughts on AoC but I need to spend more time adventuring before I do so. Hope everyone had a nice holiday weekend!

Moar Goodies!

Through the Hellgate.

Lots of fun stuff going on this weekend. Kicking it off with Hellgate  and Age of Conan FTP launches. I decided to give Hellgate a try, just to see what it was about, if you follow me then you know I am all about trying stuff for free. I love trying new games period, even old game if they are new to me, sometimes even checking back in a few years later to see what has changed in some.

Anyhow, Hellgate is one I had read about in the past but I didn't know a whole lot about. When it was first released it didn't appeal enough for me to part with my money in order try it out. Being free gave me some interest, this time around. I decided to go with the summoner class and it really was interesting and engaging. Basically it is sort of like a demonic horror, post apocalyptic game. It is very similar to the set up Guild Wars has, instanced missions with outposts full of people.

It had a very dark, gritty and urban feel to it, which I liked. Fighting undead in the ruins of London. My character was not cheesey nor beautiful but she wasn't clunky and I looked forward to getting armor upgrades as well as weapons, in drops. The summoner class was a lot of fun, by level five I had four little fire minions following me around wreaking havoc. I liked the choice of the 'talent' trees.

I have seen some complaints about this game's launch because people expected this game to be 100% F2P. Instead it is sort of similar to those where you play to a certain level and then pay for the actual game. People claim to feel mislead because this was apparently a last minute announcement. The thing is it is only four dollars to unlock the entire game, yeah four dollars, I think that is well worth it- so far. No monthly fee either with a cash shop which seems to have decent prices. I definitely think this one is a keeper as it would be great fun to play with friends or just to blow off some steam, it is fast paced and fun. I was genuinely surprised I ended up enjoying it so much.

My minions and 'manslave'. I've never had a man for a pet in an MMO.

It has been about two years since I last played AoC. While I really enjoyed this game, it was a tad much, in some areas, for my old computer. Going free to play has given me the chance to check it out again and enjoy all its charms once again. All of my characters were still there when I logged in, my highest being a 23 necromancer. I really like the feel to this game and it is really nice to be able to hop back in without worrying about a subscription. I always say that, ha! But really it is.

I cannot say if I will really put much time into the game as of now, I do plan on spending some time over the weekend with it and I'm excited about that. I have other things on my plate now so it may fade into the background, for a bit, but it is nice enough to pick back up as a main game in the future. I really like the quests and the feel of Hyboria. I plan on spending time there in the future.

Teddy pets FTW!

I'm still enjoying Champions Online. Each week the Aftershock issue has been something I look forward to. This week was a bit too fast paced for my tastes. Basically a void, or a nothing (think of The Never Ending Story) that closes in on the zone and consumes everything, even you. If you don't move along fast enough it will kill you. I like to take my time and kick back when playing CO, so this one was a real downer, if it left that part out I would have loved the Issue.

I am really looking forward to the hideouts being added July 6th! Very, very excited that we will be getting superhero housing. Gold members get to pick one out of four hideouts with the others being purchasable through the cash shop. The housing is shared across the account. I can't wait to pick mine out, I do hope it is worthwhile, I have heard we will be getting neat things like the tailor and Socrates, so we shall see how good they are. They look great from the screenshots.

The Producer's State of The Game was released a few days ago and it looks like a lot of good things are in the future for this game. I was pretty impressed with the things listed because these things will offer more for high end too, which is a really something players want to see.

Today I am like a kid in Candy Land with all this, I even have seven free days of WoW. Woo! So, I hope everyone has a fantastic holiday weekend! Well, if you're here in the US of A. Happy 4th! If not I still hope you have a wonderful weekend. Safe adventures all.
