It's been almost a week and I still have had no reply from EA/BW/SWTOR on the status of my account, which has been very disheartening. This evening I decided to try phone support once more since I've already tried to directly tweet SWTOR, post on the help forums (which it seems are only players helping players), sending several more emails- with no replies at all. Dead silence. I figured it couldn't be any worse than my first call to support.
What do you do when you're just a customer, helpless to a ban, money charged, horrible support, left wondering what just happened? When your treated as if you are not valued by the company you support? I hear it all the time, how players expect too much, how they expect companies to care, and they need to get over themselves. Today all I have to say is that, companies NEED to start valuing customers and providing the best support they can. Because if you don't... There are swarms of other companies that I can, and will, support instead of yours-- if you can't stand up to the plate. It is NOT acceptable anymore, and I'm not supporting these companies that can't get it together.
Today is going a bit better than yesterday, feeling a little bit better. I also saw that Syp had me listed on his 2011 Flushies Awards, that really made my day! Last night went out with a blah... So that was a nice surprise.
As I mentioned in an earlier post I have been needing another BioWare fix. Yep, I caved. I ended up trying to install SWTOR last night and had issues with the downloader. It took AGES and then it kept giving me network connection errors, then maintenance hit. So, after hours and hours of problems I finally ended up calling support, hey it is four am... why not give it a try!?
I was surprised to get through that early, less than a minute of waiting and I managed to get ahold of the nicest representative- Protocol Droid U3-K5. He was so kind and helpful, it was refreshing to talk to someone who really seemed to care about helping me as well as being excited about the game and being excited about me playing it. He sent some helpful information my way and things seem to be cleared up. Upon creating my account I was in such pain from being sick, at the same time as being in a frenzy of excitement of playing the game that I misspelled TWO of my security answers, luckily he was kind enough to help me with that instead of making me feel like a complete ditz. All hail Protocol Droid U3-K3- That dude rocks!
I was very impressed with the hours of support as well as the top notch customer care. I now have the launcher up and running again, it seems like it is going to take awhile but it is going! I'll be playing on the Dreshdae Cantina Server, my brother is there playing and says the queue times are pretty minimal. I'll share my name as soon as I get my character made.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas weekend. I ran out of room on my blog this weekend for pictures, on Christmas eve at that! We couldn't have that, I had to upgrade to keep sharing my plethora of screenshots! So, from now on all of my screenies will be in a much larger resolution, once clicked on (1920 x 1080 is what I upload them as so they should still be quite large). Yay! Anyhow, I wanted to share some thoughts on EQ2 and the new expansion today but I'm feeling quite bad, I must have a stomach ulcer-ugh. Instead I thought I'd share a video I made over the holiday weekend with Dragon Age 2. Showing off some mods with the Anders storyline.
I've wanted to make one final video for Anders. I really love making videos and I thought the song, Undisclosed Desires by Muse, was pretty suiting for the Anders/Justice story, I just had to use it.
As you can tell I enjoyed DA2, I was such a huge fan of Origions as well. I'm in need of a new BioWare fix.... You'll probably hear more of that later on in the week ;) For now I'm off to curl up in a ball while I wait on my guys to bring supper home. Enjoy the video!
Unfortunately I didn't log into SWTOR beta this weekend like I had planned. I just ran out of time and before I knew it the weekend had flown by. Dire had a bit more time off than usual so I wanted to spend what I could with him.Though BioWare was close to my heart still, I spent most of my gaming time playing Dragon Age II.
Dragon Age II really has stolen my heart, I put off playing it for quite awhile and since I've gotten Skyrim I thought I'd wait it out a bit longer, but watching Dire play made me miss the Dragon Age scene. I thoroughly loved the first and will probably give it another play through after I finish the second. The companions are so humorous, there are a few I like more than the others. My favorites would have to be Anders, Fenris and Varric. Varric is hilarious, jarring at first but he is a comical one, Anders has a soft spot in my heart and I didn't expect to be so drawn to Fenris, even if he does hate mages... Luckily I'm not a mage. The music has also struck a chord in my heart, it's just as enchanting as the first game.
I suppose the companions make the game, for me at least. They bicker, they approve and disapprove, they seek your interaction and just make the game feel alive. I find myself laughing out loud listening to their dialogue. BioWare really has something special there with companions tied in with great stories and I look forward to TOR because of this. I also liked how this game has a much faster pace and the story seems to just flow. I really get into the game and it doesn't feel like slaying 1000 monsters, bad guys, whatever; to advance in the story. The combat was more fluid and I enjoy the fact that my companions are pretty competent at doing their job and... if they aren't, well, I can always take over for a moment.

I did manage to poke around in Skyrim a tiny bit, I really enjoy the game, as does my son who has since passed me up by many levels. I plan on working on this one more so this week. I want to advance through the story as I have been dilly dallying around exploring.
One of our best friends started playing WoW again and started up a new rogue alt who is already 43 or so. It has been nice to see him on and we're wanting to get each other around the same levels to do some grouping on the horde side together. I also made another DK alt while I wait on them to catch up, maybe I'll tank a bit with it, who knows.
I am wondering if 4.3 will come out this week, if not this maybe on the 6th. I hope sooner or later, we've been waiting forever it seems! It would be nice if it came out this week, we could get in on this month's Darkmoon Faire. The revamped faire looks like a lot of fun.
*Yawn*.. I'm still tired. My neighbor woke us up, jamming in his car to 'Slayer', around 6am... Finally Dire went out and asked him to turn it down, which thankfully he did. I so need a nap about now. I couldn't go back to sleep so I ended up playing a bit of Dragon Age- surprise, surprise. <3 Dragon Age!
I'm actually looking forward, more so, to SWTOR after playing Dragon Age, I'm pretty impressed with Bioware in that aspect. While I am really more so into the fantasy medieval thing, I will be keeping a closer eye on it.
WoW.com recently had a neat video showing off some of the changes Cataclysm will bring to the landscape of Norrath. They also some info on changes ahead and the Cataclysm press event. I really think I would still be playing if expansions came out at a faster rate. I think Cataclysm will be very refreshing. I'm still waiting...
Last night I entered my first Battlegound in EQ2. It went pretty well. I was a bit confused at first, never being in one before. It was pretty fun, we won- woot! It is a bit different than what I am familiar with (WoW) being that the game mechanics function a lot differently but it wouldn't be hard to get into the sync of things.
I also managed to get myself a couple more sets of teleportation pads for my house, on Nyomi. I am in the process of adding another 'hidden' room only accessible through those, which is really sweet. Nyomi hit 78 last night, slow right? I've not spent a lot of time playing since the move, I'm working on the climb to 90 though! I will be happy to get there.
I also found another quest for a Halas item on the docks in Timorous Deep, for another valor bloom. I suppose you can't have too many of those lovely flowers! Another would look quite nice in my garden.
