Wandering Around Norrath

I'm trying to decide if I want to stick with my EQ2 inquisitor or just level up my alt on EQ2X, the fury. In a way I really, really don't feel like doing it all over again. I enjoyed the 1-79, or so, content with many characters but 80-85 is just not sparking much interest with me. Once I gain a few more levels I can move to the new content which I think will be lots of fun, just getting there is proving to be less fun than I thought it would be.

For one, I dislike some of the quests in this game. Go find so and so. No direction, no idea where so and so is. If I forget where a quest giver is, I could spend ages looking for it. I tend to use the EQ2Wiki a lot, which helps but who wants to tab out all the time, just to find where a quest is. If I don't, it can take quite awhile to find what I am looking for, with these huge maps, and I hate wasting time. I think this game needs a quest helper thrown in- One that works in every zone. EQ2 maps isn't working for me either and this is starting to get under my skin.

Even though I sound sort of negative I do enjoy EQ2 for a lot of reasons and really do want to hit 90 with my inquis. I have plenty of housing ideas to work on and many things I still want to do in the game, once I finish leveling. I just need a good push to get me going, sometimes it is hard to get back into things. Plus, the area I am in now has a lot of things tied in from EQ and it makes me nostalgic to play that.

On a more positive note, I have been messing around in EQ also. I was thinking of playing my mage or bst some. I'm still just puttering around on many of my characters trying to get a feel for what I want to play. Sometimes it is nice to just head out somewhere and just kill mobs without worrying about silly quests.

So, I'm just sort of wandering around in Norrath(s) just trying to get a feel for what would be fun to stick with. Maybe I'll have more of an idea what I want to do, in Norrath, next time I write. Safe adventures all!

  1. Reroll on Bristlebane - you KNOW you want to.

  2. I moved all my characters off there to FV, lol. Free Transfer! Come on YOU KNOW you want to =p

I recently started contemplating where I want to be in the MMO world as well. I tried Vangaurd, but that just wasn't doing it for me for whatever reason, just 'felt' off you know?

Anyway, I've found a renewed vigor in several games by starting to write stories based on my characters. Not sure if you like to write, but it might be a way to get you back in. Check out my site if you like to get an idea of what I mean.

  4. Yeah, I know what ya mean about VG :(

I like to sometimes add in a story to my characters too. Nice site, will hop over there later on to read some of your stories!
