Vanguard and WoW

Last night I missed my raid in WoW. We have a good team together but I know another new member would be excited to take my place. I had a headache and some RL stuff to do and wasn't in the mood to rush and hop on afterward. I am needing to lvl my little lock so I can get my mount, she is still sitting at 14. Maybe tonight I'll get her some levels.

I found out MMO Gamer Chick plays there also, which is cool. And lonmonkey from Screaming Monkeys made a character there so I hope to see them around! I've never really had a chance to play with many bloggers I read. I had the chance to play with my good friend Pouncealot, which was a lot of fun. Sadly, she has quit WoW. I play on Silvermoon as Endure or lately my alt Dances, anyone is always welcome to pop in and say hello! Horde btw.

Mostly, over the past few days, I've been playing Vanguard Saga of Heroes which is really a lot of fun. I've been playing a lot of classes and trying to get a feel for the game and think I have decided on a Disciple. The game is really a lot better than I initially thought it would be. I am enjoying it a lot.

The UI is very easy to maneuver. The combat is pretty nice, I like it a lot better than some of these other games I've tried or played recently. I really enjoy the music also, it's quite lovely. The characters, I really like the models a lot, I get to be a Dark Elf! I'm always a Dark Elf if I can be, it was the first race I was in my first MMO, I suppose that fantasy race has always felt special to me.

I'm still on the trial and I want to give it a little more time to see how it is the higher I get. I do want to write more about it but I also want to play further in the game to get more of a perspective on it. I don't want to base the game on many alts under level 10. Stay tuned to find out how it turns out ;)

  1. How cool that you found tow bloggers to play with online. It's always nice playing with people you 'know' within WoW, so I'm happy you found some folks. Part of me is sad to put my WoW toons to the side, but I'm turned off Blizzard. However it's not the only game in town, so I've moved on to other things.

Speaking of MMO's, I did download Planeshift yesterday. I haven't played the game yet. I was in the online tutorial area Outside for about five minutes. I haven't had a chance to play it. I've been way too working on another online brand, so my personal time has been wrapped up with that (marketing, social networking, etc.,) Thankfully, I find that type of stuff entertaining so it really doesn't feel like work.

Anyway, back to Planeshift's online tutorial, I do agree with many that the starting area/tutorial really sucks. I believe the game is still in beta, has been for a while. I thought it would be interesting to check that type of MMO, it's been a while since It's been a while since I've played a pre-release game.

Yeah, what are the chances? I never find anyone online who plays on the same server as me!

Anyway, my main and all my alts are Alliance, which is what I played for the last four years. But earlier this year, I resolved to start a horde character to get her up to 60 so I can experience the other side before Cataclysm comes and changes everything forever. So that's where I spend much of my WoW time now, though I think I'll jump back to Alliance too when the expansion releases. My tauren's name is Miakala and my NE druid main on Alliance is Caylinn!

  3. @ Moondancer- *Hugs* Pouncie! Ahh Planeshift, I tried that years ago. I was sort of lost. It's an older game and I barely remember trying it. Be sure to let me know how it goes!

I love free trials, I've been taking advantage of some lately.

@GamerChick- Heyas, I've seen you mention WoW on your blog before but never knew what server you were on, pretty cool :D

If you need any help on the Horde side let me know! I do have some alliance alts so I will add both of those to my friends list for sure.

OOo Sounds intriguing!I'm finally back in the swing of things with the cricket broadband modem I got myself. Wow has been my poison since getting back online.

I've heard of Vanguard, but never thought of trying it. My time is limited now that I'm working and going to school.

I'm glad you got some other bloggers to play with, thats always fun. I know a few play with me on Rexxar as alliance (Genda, Scarybooster, Br3ntbr0 and myself) we're all in the same guild, but I haven't been as active as I could. So I'm not that involved.

Your going to love your warlock. Affliction is awesome for leveling- until you get to 50 and can pick up the Felguard. I've run there about 14 levels in just a few days of play.

Glad to hear you're back! Cricket is pretty nice and decent prices too.

I really am torn on Vanguard, I just need to get a station pass lol. I'm still thinking on it.

It seems I can't seem to get away from WoW but it is fun. I am having a nice time on my lock, I was thinking of remaking a DK and playing that up some too. Ah the decisions.

I never knew MMOGamerchick played there which was really cool to meet her and Lono, who rolled up a character there also! I do hope to see more of them.
