Daily Grind

WoW
It's been a little bit since I logged into WoW.. I sort of let my account lapse. No I'm not quitting, I just kind of needed a little breather though. However, the holiday event is looking really neat this year 'Love is in the Air'. My brother showed me a few of the the changes this year and I thought it looked better than ever. I am thinking about reactivating just to do the holiday event at least.

I was pretty surprised they added the Love Rocket mount. There actually are a lot of neat changes, so it seems the holiday is even more rewarding than it has been in the past. There was even a lovers boat ride in the Stormwind Canals lol. That was too cute. If you haven't heard about it, you can find out more on WoWhead, it has a lot of information.

Allods
So I had a chance to play around with this one some more in (Open-Closed) Beta. Rarely do I jump into a game with out doing my homework on it first. With it being a free game it's not really a big deal if it turns out I didn't like it though, nothing to lose. I finally made my way to the forums. Turns out the game has a bit of open PvP- which is a let down to a care bear like me. I find PvP in free games.. Well, lets just say- I think I'd rather let my 13 year old shoot me with a paintball gun and lulz at me instead- I'd come out with more dignity.

I'm not saying it's a bad game because I don't like open PvP. I just think that having open PvP on all severs is closing the door on a certain type of player. I am sure I'll still play around with it.  I'm just not as exctited as I was- that is my fault for not doing my homework ;)

Everquest
EQ has been dominating my playtime. I haven't been doing a whole lot on it until the weekend. I've been trying to figure out a good solid combo that we are both happy with. Something that Dire and I can stick with for the long haul. I have really been interested in the Mayong server since it came up. It's a good server to welcome in new players and old players to catch up with. I had a few chars sitting there since July of last year and I mentioned the server to him last night, to my surprise he thought it might be fun to try it out.

So we tried a few combos, did a few xp groups- which for the most part, was fun. I got my 55 Mage to 57 he worked a Rogue to 55. Then he wanted to try the wizard with my Mage. It went ok but it wasn't the killer combo we were looking for, as I got lazy and made him pull.

We ended up with the last combo being Monk and Shaman. He pulls and has a Cleric merc on the Monk and I play the Shaman with a Warrior merc. It actually was a fantastic combo and we were both happy with the classes. Having played them in the past there wasn't much new to learn but it was fun. So I am thinking this could be a combo we stick with for the long haul.

Mayong has a lot of people leveling up. There are people everywhere. It is nice to see life all over the world of Norrath. People seem pretty nice in general. Dire had a kind person give him 2k plat just after asking him a few questions about the server, which I thought was a really nice thing someone would go out of their way to do. So for now, it looks as if Mayong will be home for us.

Oh Hell...
Last night Dire watched the Superbowl, I'm not big into sports..  However, I saw a fantastic commercial for a game he has been interested in. It has gotten a lot of controversy. It's just a game people! I leave you with the video.

  2. I <3 Shaman/Magician as a combo, but my being a magician I might be biased, heh. If I ever 2-boxed I would 100% absolutely go shaman though. SK/Shaman is also a reasonable combination, though with healer mercs the shaman could be swapped for an enchanter, trading the heals for some other utility while keeping haste and slows.

  3. @Janet- Yeah I thought so too!

@Erik- We've done the Shaman/Enchanter- Mage duo before. Definitely a good combo with either.

Since we both have played Mage/Enchanter combo for so long we wanted to change it up a bit. We also wanted to make a good combo for duo and groups. This one should be pretty solid I think.
