Are We Having Fun Yet?

Motivation?
I was thinking recently on how I just have zero interest in much endgame in WoW. I suppose it's due to so many changes in mechanics, classes and play. Maybe the tables have been turned on me one too many times.

My plans were to level the Hunter and Druid and focus on both of them as I saw fit. My Druid was a joy to heal with, very mobile and strong at healing through almost anything. It's just not fun when things change and a class isn't what you enjoyed. The Hunter, it's alright but I had my heart set on healing, for the most part.

While I don't mind relearning my class, I don't find it a whole lot of fun to do so. That's why I play, to have fun. I don't find running out of mana fun and it seems to be the norm in this expansion. Conserving that's a whole different story. It seems things change to whatever the developers whim is. If I wanted a job in the evenings as a healer (LAWL), I'd expect to get paid, not being the one paying out. Toy with the mechanics all you want, doesn't mean you're making it more fun!

Things were harder in (vanilla) WoW, but I found them to be fun. However that was just a different time and people were use to it, that was the way of things. Are the new mechanics really hard or just stupid? Was it stupid to let us all happily faceroll along and then expect us to be best-est friends and work together with cross server instances? 'Maybe'...

I can go back to Everquest and the classes, after eleven years, still function very closely to the way they always did. Not exactly, but it's very close. It's nice to know a class, take a break, come back and slide back into that role like an old shoe. That's the beauty of it.

I suppose on the other hand it's the community too. I'm a loner these days. Not wanting to hear another idiot whine or complain or just spew incessant babble that I know will annoy the crap out of me. I enjoy the game, I enjoy the end game I've seen so far- but only with my friends, lately.

I miss people working together without insults flying. Making friends in groups because you were all on the same server. Having fun in groups, not stressing over stuff.

It's quite sad, I use to be so outgoing. Making groups out of scratch, homemade on our own server, none of that pre-packaged LFD stuff!

2010 Reflections

Rock on, 2010! Until the end!
I thought I'd just go through some thoughts on the year as it comes towards the end. Musings on blogging some reflections on gaming. What it all means to me and what to hope for in the new year.

Blogging Reflections
I recently saw that Massively had a post considering their Top 10 MMO Blogs of 2010, while I knew I was surely not on it, I was very shocked to see I had made it on the list as blogs to watch. Very honoring to even be considered, as a blog to watch, on the list.

I try to be a humble and not full of myself,  try to consider other people's views,  always try to be classy and not vulgar with my writing, it's just because that's who I am. I play what is fun for me, not always what everyone else is blogging about. I write because I truly enjoy it. So when I get a nod in my direction it is always such a welcome flattery.

As writers we often don't always get much back besides the self furfilment. I always try to show interest in my readers comments because I honestly am interested in what they have to say about whatever I am writing. Comments are like candy to me, I savor every one of them! Sometimes I consider hanging up my hat with blogging, we all have our days, and it's times like this that it really make me feel all warm and fuzzy.

I think 2010 was a year for me to find my own place with my blog. The name might not be fancy and catching but it has meaning me to, and hey it's easy to type it in the navigation bar! The blog has gone through a lot of looks, some very embarrassing to remember. I'm an artist at heart so I try to add in my own little touches of flair. It's probably a bit over the top and far more colorful than most but it's what I love to do!

Gaming Reflections
This year I had the chance to make some very special friends, with other bloggers and players. Some even managed to make their way to my realm in Warcraft. I managed not to scare them off and it's been nice having them around. I always welcome new people to join us.

2010 had some boring bits and felt stagnant at some times, as far as gaming went. I got quite bored here and there but as the year wraps up there is more to do, once again. The year coming up looks promising for some new games. Still some waiting to do but I've found that it's easier to be happy with what you have instead of yearning for what is to come. It will get here when it gets here.

I realize friends and fluff are more special than any achievements and epic loot. Years ago I moved on from small little family guild(s) in hopes to get a regular spot in an active raiding guild, but then ended up missing the people who had made the game special. Not to say raiding isn't great, it's just not the end all be all of my world.

I hope see some fun new games out this year. It's always refreshing and exciting to be a newbie in a new MMO. I look forward to bringing in the new yet keeping in touch with some of my older favorite games! This year makes eleven since I stepped into the pixelated enchantment of MMO games. It was like falling into the looking glass ;)

It's a bit early but I hope you all have a wonderful year in 2011! Any reflections for you about this year? Or hopes for the next?

The Freeblood

Character art- My Freeblood Fury, Sable.

Vampires in Norrath?!
You've probably heard a bit about the new (Vampire) race in Everquest II: Oh noes a cash shop race, blah blah.. *Sparkle .. Sparkle*. Something. When I first heard about The Freeblood race it was to be implemented as part of the winter rewards promotion. I was a bit let down I'd probably miss out on it because I didn't have a subscription. So when I heard it was available to all, I didn't get upset. It was available to me still, I was happy about that. Paying (subscribers) customers will end up getting it free. I ended up getting a bunch of Station Cash as gifts this year so it worked out pretty well for me, double SC bonus FTW!

The Freeblood race is pretty similar to the others in many ways and you don't start out in a new vampire area. With the revamp to the old starting areas and New Halas it's fine though. They can morph into a 'evil' look or just stay all pretty. You can switch in- or- out of combat, whenever you wish. The mount is more of an illusion and not really a mount, with a 65% speed bonus (slow fall type effect) and will be able to work as a flying mount in the next expansion, Velious.

Forget Princess... I want to be a Vampire!
I read that somewhere recently... lol. I've always wanted to be a Vampire race since the glory days of the original Everquest. All those vampires in Mistmoore and Plane of Hate. Oh how I wanted to play as one!

The race doesn't have a soga model but it's pretty nice looking. The body is that of a female elf which is suiting. The faces are pretty/handsome. The hair is a nice change, I love the longer versions. It's more or less eye candy but I figured it would be a great fresh start since I've been messing around on the EQ2X server on the side lately. I'm not a huge fan of the F2P version but it's been working out well for me lately just playing around here and there. I may actually make this my home when I re-sub. Until then I can still play. Me likes.

Thoughts...
I was upset I missed out on the seven year vet reward house. The Freeblood estate is very similar but you have to buy it separately (from the cash shop) or you can save and buy the bundle. Which is cheaper, I've heard different but that's not true. It's cheaper to get the house, combat ability *look* and swarm of bats in one deal.

So for me, I was happy to have a chance at this type of house. I didn't really miss out, I just have a newer account I play on lately. I'll get it in a few years, until then I'm an impatient person!

For those upset about the race going into the cash shop, it was stated this will most likely be the only unique race ever in the shop. It also gives us, those not getting the winter rewards, a chance at the race too. I've said it once, I'll say it again- It's a a business out to make money. One thing I do like about EQ2 is that SOE is really good about content and updates, they are pretty frequent, especially when comparing to other big MMO games.

What really boggles me is the people upset about this, the subscribers. They are the ones who seem to be 'raging' over this... But chances are if you're threatening to quit, or getting up in arms about the whole situation, you were a paying subscriber and you would have gotten the race free. I think many people are forgetting to keep that part in mind. Ok, moving on.

I'm not happy that the extras like the Swarm of Bats and so on are cash shop too. What am I going to do, pitch a fit and quit a game I adore? Nah. I'd rather get on with life and enjoy it. On the bright side its nice not having to pay upkeep on my new house :) I would have loved to have seen all this added with the upcoming expansion, in all honesty.

You may like them you may hate them. That's your choice. I wanted to just give some thoughts on the new race. If you want to have a peek at the female model, morphing, swarm of bats and housing- check out the video. And more info on the race here.

Alice, Anyone?

Someone got me in the mood to play Alice today... I had to settle to do a little art instead. Thanks Pouncie for the inspiration ;) I loved that game. We need a dark and twisty MMO like that.

Show & Tell!

Some of our new toys! Yes, that is a WoW ghoul.... My son's :)
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas weekend. I had a lovely time. I got some great presents, had some good food and a nice time with family. I even got my very own Domo! My family got me a lot of cool things, they know me well! Good books, which I was in dire need of!

One of my son's presents was Minecraft. He's been wanting it for awhile and I actually got it a few days before Christmas so he could play it with friend. He absolutely loves it. He had made a really terrific castle but someone wrecked it and from then on they decided to not just let anyone come play with them. He's having a blast and building some awesome stuff, I want to make a video of his place soon. One of these days I'll sit down and mess around with it more so. It's quite fun!

I finally got Sambas! So did my bud, Money (we had to take pics together hehe). Sambas is on either a 12 or 24 hour spawn it looks like, spawning close to the same time always. I didn't spend a lot of time on WoW over the weekend but I popped on a few times. Dire got 85 with the Priest and is now working on alts. He says he runs out of mana quickly just questing, which seems a bit blah. After the last expansion, running out of mana just seems redundant and slow-When questing at 85. I haven't had a big problem with my Druid at 82, but I do notice it's not the same as it was.The Hunter is grand, I love it. I just miss healing sometimes. That's what the Druid is for though!

My WoW account just renewed a few days before Christmas and I'm still enjoying it but I am not really hyped about new instances or raiding. I suppose it's sort of rare that we can do a guild run with enough people on at once. We have the making for a solid group but it's just getting everyone together at once that's the hard part. As of now there is no chance of raiding, as I see it. But it's alright. I mainly putter around with questing and trade skills slowly, archeology keeps me busy too. I just can't stomach pugs very much these days.

For Christmas I also got Station Cash! So, with that I decided to get the new Freeblood race in EQ2. I don't have a sub currently so I've been messing around on the EQ2X server. Which is just chocked full of people. Anyhow, the Freeblood race is very cool. I'm having fun with it. More thoughts in my next post on this though!

I was inspired by the new EQ2 race and did some 'Vampy' art. Check it out, if you like. I was pretty happy with the outcome of the pictures.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas, anything special come your way?!

Sambas For Christmas!

Early Christmas morning Sambas was waiting on me. I logged in for a few to check the Orgrimmar tree and checked his spawn real fast, there he was! What a fantastic pet, I guess my 'Azeroth' Christmas wish was granted ;) I only had a few min to drool over him before logging...sigh. Merry Christmas all!

All I Want For Christmas Is Sambas!

The Elusive Ghostcrawler!
Chasing rare pets, for me, is like a compulsion. I hate it but once I get it in my head that I want a particular pet I have to have it or I'm one crabby Hunter. It's really annoying. Last night I was minutes late, maybe even seconds to tame Sambas. I was so mad, I wanted to throw something! I instead noted the spawn time and logged off in defeat. I know when he spawned but is he on a 12 or 24 hour spawn cycle?I've heard both so I will check at both times.

What really ticks me off is that if these rares have such a long spawn timer.... Why must (most of them) they be in questing hot spots? Any person questing along on their merry way can kill them for sport while about ten Hunters keep looking night and day, like vultures, in vain. I'm not a person who likes to waste huge amounts of time and this causes a lot of wasting time. Sure, I don't have to get these pets. I want to though, I just wish it wasn't such a PITA just to get the pet model we actually want. I'm not a fan of rare spawns anymore, EQ burned me out on massively long camps that make me want to roll into a ball and start rocking, in some dark corner.

He sparkles... Should I name him Edward??
I did manage to get the Ghostcrawler pet. He spawns in the Abandoned Reef. No other mobs spawn there and I was shocked to see him scuttle past me. I shrieked and pointed and made Dire look, I was so excited to finally see a rare. He's a cool pet, glad I got at least one rare! He makes a nice addition to my other lovely pets.

So I suppose I'll waste more time hunting these pets and hope to get lucky. If I don't enjoy it, why do I do it? Because I want those pets and there is no other way. I'm a Hunter, I have to have the coolest pets! What makes you want to pull you want to pull your hair out? Are you a masochist (as Lono likes to call me) about something in game? What's your vice? All I want for Christmas, in Azeroth, is Sambas!

For anyone interested in Ghostcrawler's location I found him here:

Safe adventures all!

Dr. Jones! Calling Dr. Jones!

Harrison Jones. I always knew someday you’d come walking back through my door.
85, Finally! I started enjoying the Hunter more around 83 and just kept playing her to 85. Once I got going it went pretty smoothly. That is- until I met Dr. Jones. I was five quests away from finishing off Uldum and the Harrison Jones quest line (phasing) bugged. I couldn't see him. I wanted to Strangle ol' Jonesy. I just watched an Indiana Jones marathon (most of it!) last weekend so at this point the whole quest line got this song stuck in my head:

I was four bubs away from 85 when I had to leave Uldum. I did put in a ticket and hope to finish those quests this week. I loved Uldum, it was fantastic! I love that it had an Egyptian theme too it, I love all kinds of Egyptian stuff. It was like being a kid in a candy store, for me.

As far as zones go I've barely scratched the surface in the Twilight Highlands, it seems to be a lovely zone. It will net me more moneys! Deepholm was kinda blah for me after awhile, I was glad to leave there. I suppose Uldum was the icing on the cake for the leveling experience.

I'm free... FREE!.. No more levels!
Was the leveling process too short? I worked on two characters until around 83 so it seemed longer for me. I enjoyed it but at the end I was getting rather impatient, especially with those Harrison Jones quests bugging out on me, and some started to be a pain in the rear...

I'm glad to be 85. I will work on the Druid in time, right now I am going to see all there is to see, do daily quests, quests, get Cataclysm Loremaster, waste huge amounts of time... I mean tame some rare pets.Plenty to keep me busy for some time still. Plus I need a leveling break!

Do ya think they can see us?!
With gear and levels the Hunter is doing better as far as damage goes. Our guild does some instances on the weekends and we ran two this weekend, which I was happy to see I was doing better. I don't play flavor of the month classes and I just need to stay clear of the WoW forums sometimes. I really enjoy my Hunter and will continue to play her as long as I find the class enjoyable. And I do love the class! And Camo... Yay! I've waited so long for this ability!

Check out what some of my guildies are doing! My tank-a licious friend, Lono, has a message from a tank's point of view! One of our new blogging additions to the guild, Pid, has a tanking encounter of the stupid kind!

Shifting Gears (WoW Instances)

Yesterday I didn't even log into WoW. I spent a little gaming time messing around trying out games on my new Android. I actually want to write more about them and plan to but I got to thinking today about some of the posts in my feed that caught my attention. Mainly concerning add-ons in WoW and the level of difficulty of the dungeons now. I suppose the community overall when it comes to working together.

Given time, these instances will even out. I know they will, they most always do by the end of the expansion we'll all be plowing through them in shiny epics. Well, maybe some of us. Right now our gear is pretty 'craptastic' and most dungeons are pretty new to us. We are still in the learning phase.

However, it seems Blizzard wants us to shift gears in this expansion and go back into more of a state of awareness while in dungeons. It doesn't so much remind me of 'vanilla' more along the lines of BC (*Pukes* a little bit, thinking about BC). I remember running around sporting my blue gear proudly in Vanilla, I don't remember doing this in BC. Why I say this is because in BC things were harder, they were heroic. We didn't have heroics in the first few years of the game.

Which leads me to my next thoughts, we can't ever go back because people are too busy rating you by your gear ilevel or gear score and watching recount. As long as these are factors in the game it will always be one big competition. Say it all you like, that these can be used as tools for good, in the end they are used more to abuse than anything else. They can point out who to avoid, who is abusing them and so on but if they were not there in the first place we wouldn't have to bother with them. There are now rating add-ons. Rate this person by your experience playing with them... Nice, so if some player gets mad I won a roll and they lost... they can give me a bad rating? You'd have to be ignorant to use an add-on like that, that's all I have to say about this one.

So with all of this said. I don't hate ALL add-ons. I just don't like the big competition. I like working together. This expansion is pushing us to work together but with the cross server instances it's still hard as hell. I'd much prefer to group with people on my server (Horde and Alliance- Yeah I know it WILL happen one day, I tell you!!), instead of strangers who have no repercussions for their behavior. People will still base your worth on your gear rating and dps, not taking things into account such as CC and skill. It will make it harder to slip into this 'Lets all work together' mentality".

I find myself not very excited about doing dungeons right at 85. With friends, sure- Not pugs! It will be hard for some to change the old 'GO GO GO' mindset, causing a lot of trial and error. I suppose this is all part of the game but you can't aim for the past in MMO games. We will never return to those old glory days, too much water is under the bridge and too much has changed within these games.

I do hope to see people working together more. I am sure many larger guilds will be working together more so to work on guild leveling and achievements. Which may hurt the LFG scene for awhile, causing longer wait times. I suppose we shall wait and see. Things will even out, people will cry for it to stay hard or it to be easier.

All we can do is try to enjoy it and work together. Isn't that why we play MMO games, the interaction? Playing with others? If you don't like working with other people why do you even join groups? Lets not all glorify ourselves over our shiny ilevel and epics and how AWESOME we or whomever has them is/are- Because in the end, nobody went in and got them alone, they were gained from working (With other people!!!!) as a team!

I leave you with some simple advice: Stop looking at your add-ons to rate people, be nice to your group mates, try working as a team and have fun!

Slowly Climbing

I've been switching between the Druid and the Hunter the past few nights, Hunter being 83 now and the Druid following closely at 82. I do want to hit 85 and I think I'm going to push it with the Druid. While prices are good for materials in the Ah, I figure it will be good to level her and make money along the way.

Yep, people are paying crazy prices for materials. That's fine with me, I like reaping the benefits of this high demand! I played Clo last night for the most part and made far less money than I do with Nyomi. There are some things I'd like to save for, or just in case I see something I want! Plus it's a nice bonus to be able to heal in any instances I might want to do.

Speaking of instances, I haven't done any on Nyomi, simply because I only knew where one was and it was so far out of the way that I couldn't be bothered to 'discover' any dungeons just by going to visit them. I think it's a bit annoying to have to do so, especially with how LFD works. Going there one time isn't going to help people learn their surroundings.

Besides the mundane stuff, I've slowly been working on Archeology- Which is pretty neat so far. I'm drooling over links people send me... I need to get to leveling it so I can get some goodies too! Also, I am almost tempted to go feral just to play around with the spec, it looks like fun. However I sold most of the Feral gear I've acquired so I may start saving some up form here on out.

I'm still in no rush to hit 85 but it will be nice to finally get there. I'm not sure really what I will do once I get there. I don't really want to worry about pugging heroics at this point in time. Not with a pug, but for now our small guild is still full of different levels with only one 85 so far.

What's eveyone else been doing in Cataclysm? Besides leveling? Any interesting new finds? Hope everyone is having a great week!

I Be A Troll, Mon!

Nyomi
I've been working on my Druid and Hunter, both making way to 85. I suppose I could work on one and then the other but it's more fun hopping back and forth, for now. One may take the lead eventually. I suppose whatever I feel in the mood for, that day, is what I log in.

My Druid is now a Troll! I love it, mon. The flight form is still the Tauren graphic so I hope to see the new (bat) flight form implemented before long. I managed to buy her epic flying which was easy to save up for with the Cataclysm quest rewards, drops and things I've gathered. Herbs and skins sell oh so well! I'm making a lot of gold each day off all of this. I am sure it will lighten up as the expansion ages but for now it's awesome making all this money!

The fishy wanted some chicken wings...
It's been ages since I was balance so it was a little hard getting use to shifting in and out of forms, at first. I'm dual spec balance/resto currently. Her damage surpasses the Hunter by leagues, it's sad. My normal hits at 80 (she's 82 now)  were what my Hunter crit for at 82. The Hunter doesn't seem to be scaling all that well still. But I still enjoy the class and it's nice having two mains to bounce back and forth between.

I'm enjoying the Cataclysm quests, so much in fact that I put my DK on hold. I just didn't feel up to redoing BC and WoTLK so soon! There are lots of fun quests and many new things to do and see.

Our little guild ,Walk The Plank, hit level 2 last night and while it's slow going it's exciting to hit levels. I do wish it was easier for smaller guilds to progress. I can see this being a problem, Lono hit the nail on the head in his last post. It will take some time but I hope to see our guild grow and progress.

Catching My Breath (WoW, EQ2, FR)

Lately, with Cataclysm I feel I've focused quite a lot on WoW. I wanted to mention a few other things that have caught my eye lately with some of my other games, while recapping some thoughts on my progression through Cataclysm. Sometimes I need to stop and catch my breath!

I was also mentioned on Multiplaying as Site of The Week- Yay! I've been following this site for quite awhile and it's a real honor to be mentioned! When I was a new, fresh blogger I had hoped to make the list! Thanks guys!!

WoW
I've been enjoying playing through cataclysm. The Hunter is halfway to 83. This weekend I spent a little time on alts, enough to get my DK 60 and flying, that's about it. The Hunter I have mixed feelings about. If you check out the forums, they are on fire with complaints about Hunter dps and scaling. While I try not to focus on this, it still is hard not to notice. I will be trying survival this evening to see how that does, as BM is great for leveling I'm not sure how viable it will be for raiding. As of now it seems competitive but I don't know this first hand, as far as comparisons go with the other specs.

Dire is back into the swing of things and completely caught up with my Hunter, on the Priest. He is really enjoying things. I try not to complain too much as to taint any of his fresh returning thoughts! We also managed to do a run with Walk the Plank, Lonomonkey tanking for us since he hit 85! Big grats to him!! It was fun to do a guild run and I even got to show off my horrible kiting skills! I got two new weapons and a new bow, in that run!

The quests, there are so many quests and they have been fun and smooth. I liked the quest line where I got to be a Naga Battle maiden. That one was entertaining. Although I think my sea-legs are getting a little wobbly, I will be glad to walk on 'dry land' again soon. I will say that I have enjoyed the underwater zone immensely, it's just so freaking huge! I'm thankful for the underwater mounts!

I keep considering playing the Druid some too. I want to hit 85 soon though so I don't know when she will get some attention. I would like to try my hand at healing these new instances soon too. For now it's nice to sit back and dps while soaking up the scenery and learning mechanics of the instances. I may dust her off this week and see how it goes.

EQ2
If you're not a big fan of Team Werewolf... I mean Worgens, EQ2 has Team Vampire covered! I couldn't resist. EQ2 has a new Vampire race due out soon with their winter rewards program. However, for those of us who may miss it I did hear the race will available in the cash shop.

Honestly, I'd be more excited if it were part of  the expansion, Velious, and I didn't have to put more out to buy a new race. I suppose it's really a perk to subscribers. While I do like that there are cool things in the cash shop for easy access I don't like it when (almost) everything cool is added to it. I start to wonder where the game's direction is headed. I'm sure once I return I'll check out the new race, it does look pretty sweet. It really caught my attention- Playable Vampires in Norrath?!!

EQ2 has also been working on server mergers which may liven things up. There have been some issues I've heard, they seem to be in the process of ironing out all the kinks still. I wish EQ2 all the best, may it all be smoothed out for when I return!

Free Realms
I still poke around in FR. I just don't have a lot to report when I do. It's one of those games I head to when I need something really laid back. I can just do whatever on my character and not worry about alts or progression and so on. If I I don't like how one class functions, I just play another, all on one character. I love having my one character who can do it all!

Anyhow, there are some really cool (Snow Days), rewards due out this week for subscribers! I'm a lifetime member so I am excited about this. Check it out, some really snazzy stuff. I'll be sure to talk more on it once I get my hands on these goodies!

Hope everyone has a great week and fun adventures!

Beauty Or The Beast? (Worgen)

Beauty or the beast?
Today I woke up with a Christmas tree knocked over on the floor, since then it's been knocked over three more times, all the ornaments are off of it, tinsel all over the house. I have one very bad kitty. To top it off my son's vice principal should be sent to the principal's office for lack of manners. Gotta love days like this.

I managed to finish off the Worgen starting area this morning. It was bittersweet. A lovely story with some sad parts. People losing their homeland a father losing his son, people losing loved ones in general. I feel for the Worgen, it makes me like Sylvanas a bit less. It's the nice part of playing both sides, you get to see things for yourself. Personally, I think she's lost it!

Player housing please?! You taunt me Blizzard >.>
I decided to make  a (yes, another) Druid. I wanted to play around with the new Druid forms. The Worgen are cool looking, a bit 'doggy' looking but cute that way. The mount/run speed animation, I'm still deciding what exactly my thoughts are on that. It's cool in a way but it's weird too. I can already hear all the 'doggy-style' jokes and 'attempts' in the cities. *Rolls Eyes*...

Something I did not like was my visit to the barber. I had to switch to Worgen, pick hair, get out of the chair, switch to human, see hair. Nope not the right one, do it all over again. Annoying. That will get costly at 85! Plus those new hairstyles from WoTLK were not an option for me. Booooo!

Other than that I had a nice time. While not as fun and crazy as the Goblin area it was a good play. It went by quickly and pretty smooth, for the most part. I still have to finish up the last part for the Goblins... Another day on that topic. Today it was nice to be in a cozy rainy day atmosphere.

I will miss those 'gabby' Gilneas'!
I've just been indecisive about what I want to play lately. When I get like this I just play whatever is fun at the moment. I may play the Worgen a bit more when no guildies are on. I'd like to see how some of the Alliance areas have changed with the questing.

So yeah, I'm all about just having fun with alts right now. I keep forgetting to try out archeology. That will give me a reason to log in the main. Hope everyone else is having fun with Cataclysm, seems they are! OR... whatever it is you are playing!

Get Gabbin' Or Get Goin'!

<3
I think I just might scream if I hear another NPC say that. While cute the first time, it started to get old quickly, in the Worgen starting area. Last night I managed to play through more of the area and while it is very impressive it's not comparable to the Goblin starting area. However, what is comparable to the Goblin starting area??!! If you're raving about the Worgen area you haven't even tried Goblin, apparently ;)

It was all fun and games until the masses of Worgen started killing off newbies, I had many good laughs at those poor alliance alts! I did like the storyline and the setting of the area was so lovely. I really, really wish I could have housing in that setting!

I also leveled the Hunter some too, she is halfway to 81. I got my lovely seahorse. I ended up logging her just because there were still so many people around and I'm also not in any big rush. The seahorse is so beautiful!! I wish I could use it everywhere.

The Goblin DK finally made it out of the starting area and I had a chance to check out the barber. There are extra hairstyles in there- Woo! They saved the best (female) ones for the barber! They are sooo cute! If you haven't had a chance to check it out, do so. I am sure the Worgen have that pony tail, I wanted, locked behind the barber! I'm just showing off my top three. I can't decide which >.>

Later on today I want to try my hand at Archeology, maybe get 81 on my Hunter and work on the Muppet of Doom (DK).

I'm tired today and little crabby (keeping it short today). My son forgot lunch money and wasn't fed at school. I hate yelling, but somebody has to do it, right?

Anyhow if you haven't made a Goblin, skip to step three, profit!

Cataclysm Thoughts

Yesterday I was pretty busy and didn't have a chance to put out some thoughts on Cataclysm's launch day. For one we got our new Android phones in- Yay! While I've played around on my brothers iphone, I still had a lot to figure out. So he came by (he had an android before buying the iphone 4) to show me some handy things with it. And I absolutely love it! Maybe my twitter won't be so dead anymore ;)

Bad kitty! I'm trying to play Cataclysm!
So besides spending too much time playing around on the phone I did manage to be on when Cataclysm went live. It was fun, chaotic and impressive. I did have to log out and back in, digital download, which I couldn't get back in right away (OMG LETS ALL LOG IN AT ONCE) but after about 10 minutes I managed to. It wasn't as bad as it could have been! My kitty, Tut,  (pictured) was being a bad kitty, that night.

We met up with a friend, Dire and I. We went to the new 80 starting area and it was crazy, all the people there! By this time it was an hour into Cataclysm and I had fun but moseyed off to try a Goblin, after awhile. I was tired of competing with so many people! Dire was tired and he actually fell asleep. The Goblins were the highlight of the night. I was so impressed with the quests and starting area. It was amazingly fun, such a fantastic job was done with everything I've seen so far in Cataclysm! I was floored.

I'm not going at a breakneck pace really, more of a snail's pace. I know it will all be there for the next year and a half, at least! I do want to see raid content but it's not going anywhere. I made a Goblin Mage which I had tons of fun with but I may end up playing more on my Goblin DK. I'm thinking about doing some tanking, possibly. I feel the need for a melee character!  As for my main, I want to play her some too. I'm just waiting for the initial burst of people to move on.

Yesterday Lono wanted to do some guild runs to level the guild and we managed to get one in, which was fun. We did a low level instance and I took my little Paladin. Free lewt! We want some of the guild rewards so we plan on working on the guild as we can. I'm sure we'll be doing some alt runs to boost those levels up too.We also saw the first 85 message while in there, jeez blow through the content why don't you?! Speaking of firsts, I hear Athene hit 85 before anyone else, on the EU launch. He did that in LK too. Last year he was banned for the manner of doing it, hope it's not a replay of that!

I've not yet had much of a chance to play through the Worgen area, very far. The Goblin starting area was amazing, I hope the Worgen one is just as fun. I did make one last night but my eyes were so heavy I couldn't get very far. I ended up falling asleep on the couch waiting on Dire to get home, which he woke me, to my surprise, with dinner. Yum! By then I was pretty much done for the night, ha!

So those are my first impressions of the expansion. It's one that is truly refreshing and I really have to give props to Blizzard for the impressive launch and all around fantastic job they did with Cataclysm. I just have to stop messing about and pick a character to play up first! I'm thinking of working on the DK some more today.

What's going on in your neck of the woods? Rushing to the cap or just taking the scenic route? Safe adventures all!

AFK- Playing...

Epic. That pretty much sums it up. AFK!

Killin' Time!

What can we get into?
This evening (which is now tomorrow, thanks youube for being a PITA) I was happy to see a few of my guildies on. I had plans to make a little video while passing some time waiting on Cataclysm, which actually ran into more time than I thought! They were more than happy to help me and we had a lot of fun making a video tonight. It's short and sweet, something with some humor.

The thing about adding in subtitles is you have to keep them short if you have many short clips so I had to keep things short and to the point. While watching the first edit my son thought the subtitles too long and hard to read so I had a bit of editing to work on. I hope you enjoy the video, Walk The Plank sure did enjoy making it. See ya in Cataclysm!

And boo on youtube for doing maintenance while I was trying to publish!!!! NERDRAGE!

Countdown To Mean Green Goblin Take Ov... Err Cataclysm!

Can we wait that long?!!

Are you ready for Cataclysm?! I sure am. When I first started playing again I figured I'd want to race to 85 and get the Hunter there first. I'm not so much feeling the Druid, maybe after a race change, but I am sure she will hit 85 in due time.

What I seem to be looking forward to mostly is making a Goblin! They are so cute, the look like little green pixies, well the females do. I'm not big on small races in MMO games. Most never really hold any appeal to me. Having a character with stubby legs and arms, where gear looks like infant wear, isn't that interesting... But the Goblins were so well done that they look like a fun race to be. Seriously they just ooze fun! The racials are sweet as well.

I do plan on making a Worgen too. I have to, I've been wanting to make one since I first heard about the expansion. And I do plan on leveling Clo, my Hunter, because I am interested in getting 85, I'm just not in a really big rush!

I've been mostly playing alts over the weekend. My Mage is level 16, she might end up getting deleted to become a Goblin! My Lock is 41 and I have another Paladin alt (too cheap to transfer my 80 back here), who is 20 now. Paladins are very appealing, I really enjoyed leveling this one up! With all the new quests in these areas it's just so much nicer leveling alts and you just fly through the levels!
He sparkles!

In the past I've mentioned that my serious alt days were in the past as I've played through these zones one too many times since release. With these changes it's not like that anymore and it makes me want to play an alt. Fantastic job Blizzard! It takes a lot for me to want to level an alt these days and it's really nice to feel differently at the thought!

I hope everyone has a fantastic time in Cataclysm! May your loot be phat and your levels be fun!

The End of The Road Is Near!

So, today I bought Cataclysm for us. Yay! We're all set for the big day! I'm mostly messing around on various alts and on occasion the mains(s). Just doing some fun laid back questing, that's enough for me. I should be grinding out daily quests for gold but I don't feel like it right now. Maybe tomorrow! I'm excited though.

Dire hasn't had a whole lot of time to play WoW lately and his interest runs in spurts these days but I think Cataclysm will be a nice change for him, offering more things to keep him interested. He's even mentioned making a goblin once he has a main to 85.

Lately EQ2 has been getting some attention with some new claims and Velious getting closer. I saw in my mailbox an ad for EQ2: Pay for Dec-Fed and order Velious and you get rewards. A new race (vampires) and a wold mount and I'm not sure what the third is. I don't like the idea of being baited to play. Isn't it enough that I want to play the expansion? So if you miss out you'll never get to play the new race? NOT COOL SOE... I'm losing faith in you here.

Furthermore John Smedly claims "We have five years of World of Warcraft experience behind us to know that people that play EverQuest II don't play World of Warcraft." Really? *Chuckles..* That's odd to hear, I play both. I don't always play both at the same time, for the most part, because I don't have the attention span to focus on more than one MMO at a time. I sometimes do. Sometimes. That's why I didn't do so well with a station pass. I'm just sayin' Mr. Smed- I consider myself an avid fan and part of both WoW and EQ2 communities.

So, I'm ready for Cataclysm, I'm just not sure if I'm ready for Velious yet. I'm sure I will be by the time it hits, I just don't like the idea for missing out simply because I took a break. Kaozz is a sad panda, SOE.
